First I would like to apologize for locking the lobby. I did not realize that dropped players would not be able to rejoin.

Next game will be much better. MUCH better. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I lost my cool when Purple (our temporary ally) killed a miner and almost a tele con. Repeated attacks from Purple caused me to say "Die bitches".

In retrospect I should have sicked my fleet of battleships on green. I was all about killing off Aarm first! /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Guess things didn't work out that way. Yes we wiped the map and ran out of steam.

Funny thing about that game. We never got aleph res picked up. Odd.

I liked the FFA.

Next game we aren't using tags. The poll is broken. It adds players who didn't vote and leaves out those who did. Might be user error but I doubt it.

Using autobalance was a good thing.

Locking the lobby was not a good thing.

Thanks for showing up.

Ozzy

Yellow/BIOS - Ozzy
Blue/Belts - MadAccountant
Purple/Giga - UKDude
Green/Dreg - Me

After a game of musical commanders for purple, UKDude finally stepped up and took it. The teams were incredibly skewed toward us, and Giga was down by 8-10 people. So Ozzy decided to autobalance everyone regardless of their tag.

Map was the 4-team version of StarCross and each team started with a home spec mine.

I believe Ozzy originally wanted this to be a FFA. But I received a PM from Mad about 15 minutes into the game letting me know that Giga and BIOS were allied (which I found out later was false) and he suggested that we ally. I agreed.

With the spec mine raking in loads of cash, Ozzy must have bought a SY very early. Because before we knew it, he had battleships cruising the map and there was very little anyone could do about it. While belts had a SY, they only had corvettes - which are laughable when compared to a fully-loaded battleship.

I'll openly admit it; I basically used Belts for bait while I saved up enough cash to get our SY up. We were very much behind in the shipyard department. Hell, we didn't even have one until 45-60 minutes into the game.

Thankfully we were able to use our uber Supremacy tech to fend them off (at least for a while) until the shipyard built.

I built ~4 helium mines fairly early in the game. And they paid for themselves several times over.

After we got battleships up (about 90 minutes after launch) we were able to compete on a fairly even keel. And it was basically cap wars from that point on.

Good Review Aarm makes me sad I missed it. Glad to see Dreg He3 mines still have some use. Shame it wasnt a true FFA though

Also Ozzy as far as I know locked lobby does NOT prevent dropped players from rejoining.
I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

Autobalance did seem to have made it quite even.

Hadn't seen the mass driver before, now that's returning to the basics of warfare /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

To add a little from the Belters (blue) perspective

It was a great game and really enjoyable. And i cant remember nearly enough to give a good account of it.

We opened with a goal of causing some early havoc with corvettes. Our opening moves went very nicely, with Wyld and myself taking down yellows opening tp and making their opening op short lived, despite some superb efforts from the yellow pilots. We also planted a TP in the middle sector which proved incredibly useful throughout the game and lived far longer than it ought to have.

The corvettes rolled out and made our way towards yellow space, destroying all comers. Then, as we pushed in our lead corvette had both of its gunners dc (including myself) in an unfortunate moment, frantic yells were heard over TS 'WHERE ARE MY GUNNERS ARGHHH'. I couldnt get back in for a long while due to the players / side not being even (maybe tie this to the number rankings in future?).

When I returned we were tri tech but not a corvette in sight and bios were taking out some of our miners whilst we tried to suppress them with SBs. Things took a turn for the worse as yellow, who we had temporarily ignored to focus on the main threat, reappeared with a pair of battlecruisers headed for our home. Without advanced sup at this point I thought that was going to be it, but to my surprise when the battlecruisers rolled in some heroic tac defense using LRM Killers took out both battlecruisers, us losing our shipyard in the process.

Whilst we were distracted BIOS had pushed forward an attack carrier and taken out our middle TP and was threatening our miners again. Whilst looking to deal with this another yellow battlecruiser entered our home and was narrowly defeated.

Our tech at this time had advanced and we had advanced sup, but we were under pressure with SB attacks? memory fails.. from purple, and the continued threat of yellow.

SBing efforts were redirected at yellow and we all but destroyed them if I remember correctly, but we were in trouble, with a large amount of the team tied up in a camp of adv figs vs a bios capship and some last remaining yellow efforts on our home.

We were looking for a solution, when what should roll into our home, but a pair of green corvettes coming to our aid to stand against the remaining yellow threat! relief!

Things then went rapidly downhill as MadA dced and a SB effort brought all the team into defending our sup, only for warnings to come up as yellow entered our home - and those green corvettes had apparently decided to take a vacation, as they were nowhere to be seen.

Our tac and garrison were lost denying us our remaining offense, then in the confusion with Mads drop another SB effort took down the sup, and that was it as base after base exploded in a wave of destruction with the team struggling to coordinate without Mads leadership.

Great game all!

ps. Another great memory was when Sp4wn turned up in a scout to look out our fig vs bios cap camp and was then pushed through the aleph by an unruly fighter to meet a painful end, comedy gold

pps. I must be confused about who was attacking our home as im pretty sure yellow were dead by this point! nevermind

for a big part of the game, we only knew about their sup and shipyard in sector Pain. I took a scout with tp2 to see if ozzy didnt build in purples sectors.. and surprise, i found a tac an expansion and something else.. Good thing, i had tp2 on me and dropped just as i saw the bases. Yellow was busy somewhere else and aarm always ripped to me. after that we did a 3 simulataneus drop and killed the sy + sup. Gar pretty much died in the same way. One of us dropped behind the aleph.. yellow rushed it.. i dropped close to the gar, behind a rock .. aarm ripped to me .. game over.

I have clips of the game and the ending .. but i cant get them to decompress.. ill upload them somewhere and maybe some1 can do something with them.

(ill work on grammar later /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />)

Since no one from team Giggles responded, might as well be me.

Gandalf I think got Giggles and Belts mixed up as GigaCorp were pretty much getting whooped for most of the match.
We had the most awesome surrounding rocks, we had the option of Home Tac, Left Tac, Right Tac, Up Tac. We decided on home tac. We initially skirmished with Blue Belters to our left and were allied with Yellow Bios to our right and managed quite well against Belts for a bit, killed a few miners and we managed to get an op in thier side of the middle sectors.

Then someone (possibly a newbie??) decided to kill a yellow Bios miner which incurred the wrath of Ozzy! Belters had a tac and a SY and sent a a pair of corvs hanging around outside our main 4 sectors. The timing of the Bios Broken Alliance wasn't good for Giggles as our sup had planted in the middle sector between Bios and GigaCorp territory and Bios had a tp in there (and helped defend our sup at first against a belter bomber), but due to the lack of our having a ripcord at the sup and Bios getting a Frigate or Cruiser to camp the sup and they bombed it.

In the meanwhile a Belter Stealth Bomber took out our home spec ref and our miners were getting popped off which means we pretty much had no economy, then it was just a waiting game in the end as Bios sent two Battlecruisers towards our home.

MadAcc was nice enough to hold off the Belter offensive against Giggles and we got a spec ref where our op used to be providing us with a little bit of cash, but was to no use as the Bios Battlecruisers started thier offensive.

As the aleph they were going to come in from was very close to our garrison Darkness(?I think?) got the majority of sfs to rush em....this failed partially that it wasnt well timed rush and mainly because the battlecruisers were closer then we thought and pretty much slaughtered us and then our garr went followed by our tac taking Giggles out the game.

Was fun, from my perspective it seemed that Dreg pretty much stayed out of the fight early on and were building up thier economy and due to a faux pas Giggles got $#@!ed from two sides eventually crushing them.

A dropped player can reenter the game. I had a family deal yesterday and popped in and out of the lobby repeatedly with my tag. There were reports of some folks having issues with ASGS itself and not being able to get back in.
