An example of voobness
I think thats because his mouse was rolled over to that sector. Perhaps he had the intention to fly to their sup center and decided to reload before he got there. Or he decided to shoot at the fighter while out by 3k+ metres and not flying /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> , I will give him the benefit of the doubt and say that this doesnt seem to be a clear cut case of voobness.Elonion wrote:QUOTE (Elonion @ Jul 31 2007, 12:08 PM) I don´t understand why the minimap shows the ships and stations in the enemy sup sector when you are in another sector.
One other thing I missed he was 416m from the tp and 405 from Hyro perhaps they both just ripped into the sector. With no other conflict on the sector map except Lsau he could possibly have come from there where he ripped while firing his guns. That would not explain his boosters not being used or a full cargo though or no damage to his shields. In retrospect juckto I think you are right and stand corrected.
P.S. I hope that wasn't me. /doh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="doh.gif" />

He's calling the people chasing the dreg adv. fighter (aka, they're never going to catch him) voobs.partstone wrote:QUOTE (partstone @ Aug 1 2007, 04:09 AM) I think thats because his mouse was rolled over to that sector. 8 people rip into that sector and attacked Idanmel. Idanmel does a bolt - I shoot at him as he goes past doing 100mps but realise there is no way I'm going to catch him since I'm doing about 0mps. So I hit reload and examine the minimap to see if there is something more useful to do with my time.
The example of voobness is the 5 people who don't think there is anything more useful to do with their time. I PM'd Idanmel afterwards and he told me that he was hoping to lead them to the sector boundary.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.
I used to play this game a while ago, I think it's been three years since I last played (just started again two and a half weeks ago), and even when I stopped that long ago, I never really fully understood the game. I didn't even really know what I did wrong until I read your post here:

Personally I have made worse mistakes (accidentally dropping probes instead of mines in a dogfight for example). I have joined cadets in the hope that I will make fewer mistakes, and learn how to play correctly.
I must thank you for this post, though, because if you hadn't posted it, I never would have thought that I had done anything wrong. It is all part of the learning process after all, right? /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

General rule of thumb. If it's Dreg and it starts running, dont bother trying to catch it.
