can we do it.

player A sends VC - player A's pc sends the VCID like normal
player B has the correct VC pack and plays the VC + text
player C doesn't have the new VC pack, but instead of displaying unknown chat, sends a request to player A to tell it what the text was for the unknown VC
player A's pc then sends the text to player C (and all those who requested it - could be a message to the server "tell players C,D,F and G 'silly voice chat text'")
player C gets the VC.

Back to the roots, let the CGing begin. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Um. Possible I suppose. Part of the reason people don't install chat packs though is so we DON'T see what each of the new packs say.

It's a good stopgap measure, but I'de really like to see sending of text with the vcID. Maybe with a toggle in options to switch non-standard VCs on or off.

Maybe we'll save that one for R5 /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

i may be releasing a VC pack (and even have a few personal ones for my use only), but i can see how this is useful.

A way to block unknown chat so it doesn't display anything would be good, less unknown chat spam (particularly if this were a toggled function, if not, still just as good)

Also, you could always just update the mdl's if you wanna see but not hear the VC's, but that should be optional as with installing the chatpacks in the first place.

I request that unknown chat be sent twice so it's twice as annoying, either that or make it twice as big. Then maybe people will whine so much that they run out of whines and just end up living with it or downloading the voice pack.
