Before the change Dreg dominated the core and its disadvantage (high prices) were exactly offset by the yield, leaving them with advantages only. Now they actually have a weakness. Also, the high difference in the missile tracking is due to the high tracking on DN. In the original release they had normal tracking if I remember correctly.
I cannot really comment on how the changes affected them in game, because I did not receive enough feedback on them yet. If you want to see the discussion that led to the changes, you need to switch to "show all threads", because the discussion was a while ago.

Paradigm2 wrote:QUOTE (Paradigm2 @ Jul 4 2007, 06:55 PM) For how much it is said that ints dominate on the core, they have some significant nerfs from DN.
That's because the dominance of Exp is a 1.25 derived feature - and to get rid of it would require some changes this community would never accept.
That being said, they dominate decidedly less on GoD2 than they do on DN (courtesy of said nerfs).
Ozricosis wrote:QUOTE (Ozricosis @ Jul 6 2007, 11:53 AM) Well I see Dreg has been made useless.

Maybe play some GoD2 before bitching?
Before the current tweaks to economy, Dreg was still clearly dominant in a SG environment. Now it's finally about right.

Hmmm.
Ship speed? Ship handling? Helium mines?
Hmmm.

Dreg were just overpowering before R4.
We had them zooming around at 500mps. Nothing could stop them. Nothing.

Corrections:
Ints do not, in fact, have 20% less fuel, and have the same fuel as on DN.
BIOS ints, however, have 25% less mass, and have the same amount of fuel as other ints.

is it just me or is Sup waaay too expensive as opposed to Exp? The 5 k tech cost is a bad idea i think because Sup needs a lot more tech to be competitive than Exp. Why did you up the sup costs from 2.5 to 5k?

because in the Good Old Days it used to cost 5K? /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
though your point still stands about sup costing more...

Because Noir reduced the sup costs on DN, but GoD is based on Alleg+R7. Even in Alleg 1.25 sup tech did cost 5k. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Yeah, this is not a list of changes made to GoDII, this is just the difference between them and DN
