New Allegiance Utility: Voice Recognition Chats!

Has anybody tried out how it is activated? .. until then we do not really need to worry about interference.. (I would guess it is key activated, which would solve this problem.. but I had no chance to try it yet.. still sitting in the lab..)

The app has a hot key feature so that you can bond it to a key (right control by default) (future mouse and maybe joystick) which causes the mic to take over from TS. So, you should be able to use TS with it's middle mouse button hot key, and my app with R-CTRL for maximum voice integration fun.

Also, if you are using the hot key, you have the option of muting the main audio so that your desktop speakers don't interfere with the voice recognition.

If you are not using TS, you can leave the VR in continous mode, but I have a tendency to swear a lot while i'm playing, so I usually have it in hotkey mode.

I love the idea, but theres no way to use it with teamspeak? I use a press-to-talk hotkey so I don't really care.

peet, please make sure you run through the voice training a few times. Reading a few of those 10 minute passages will really kick up the percentages for you even if you have a Wicowsin drawl like myself.

The voicechat doesn't really understand me, the learning stuff does.

Do I need to speak the all words of a multi-word voice chat or just the first word? App has much problems with the attack XYZ commands...

Some of the simple one word commands like "affirmative" work, "yehaw" not.

Hi Peet,

I still need to go through some of the commands to clean them up. "Yeeeeeeeeeee-haw" is kind of a tough nut for the speech engine to crack. Changing it to "Yee Ha" would probably increase your odds, or even "Yie Ha" might help as well.

Right now, you have to say the whole chat, a future improvement would let you specify the same command sequence for multiple grammers IE:

"I Gotcha, hold still" = <RET>~cs
"I Gotcha" = <RET>~cs
"Gotcha" = <RET>~cs

etc.

Feel free to edit the AllegChat.csv file to phoentically change / lengthen / shorten the grammers so that they better meet your voice. After playing with it for the past few weeks, the speech engine hits about 95% of the time for me on my favorites ("Sweet.")

I've been waiting all day for someone to report in that it works... ("Awesome!")
