What's the biggest screwup you've made?

My most recent nearly-screwup was when I was bombing the enemy tac on a 4-sector run, Had gotten eye spariodically, but not consistently. Then an enemy newbieInt(0) comes along. One of my turrets was a (0), and I was thinking "oh no he'll shoot and get eye when we are only 3.5k from the aleph!" So I dismount his turret, and then get the message "you have promoted SomeNewbie(0) to pilot" /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
Fortunately, SoneNewibe(0) was one of the good ones, and promoted me back when I asked and explained how to. The bomb run continued and ended with a dead tac (just). Hurrah! Could've been very embarrasing though.

One day, while I was like 16, I was too sick to go to school so I decided to stay home and play allegiance. I was piloting a bomber and our tech base was getting bombed. I ripped to defend. I then got scared of the enemy bombing crew and ripped out. I still remember that cable was comm and he said that he would usually have booted someone for doing that /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> .
I remember one of my 1st boot. In the days, comms were dumb and usually said: everyone in scouts! If you tried to d a con in a fighter early in the game, it usually got you booted. Gemini was commander and said: everyone not in a scout will be booted, you have 20 seconds. So I docked, i went to the ship swiching screen. I launched. I then though I was slow and was wondering what was happening to my scout. Then , I noticed that I even had boosters... I figured out why I everything wasn't working as expected just before getting the boot.

Recently I was commanding a game. Like a good little commander I set up a scout with a nan ready in case I need to jump out and nan a miner. Later in the game I'd done some nanning, but also had launched in an int to defend a few times. Then a stealth bomber run came for an outpost and I jump out in my int and the steath bomber is right in front of me... easy kill eh? I start firing away, only to realize I'm nanning the stealth bomber with my scout rather than killing it with my int... all the while my teammates are shooting it with ints. Outpost dies.

Spent 20 minutes being an effective solo sneak bomber ( we are Bios ) take a run at the base cloak on, shields down, as I all chat "Need Base" and "Hahhahahahahaha" all the while pressing the right mouse key launching missiles. Hit Q no damage to the base?!?!?!? A good 10 seconds of wtf /doh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="doh.gif" /> never equiped missiles. Ive learned to taunt AFTER killing base /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Telling my team to camp the wrong aleph against an eyed bombing run.
Not checking rock location before buying a tech base.
Miss clicking on bombers and accidentally upgrading the garrison.
Joining a galv run without loading a galv - launching in a scout and getting on a bomb run without a nan.
Unloading missiles in a bomber (to lower sig) and finding out that they aren't loaded when I'm 1.3k away from their expansion (god I've done that so many times).

Doing easily what others find difficult is talent; doing what is impossible for talent is genius. -Henri-Frederic Amiel
Heheh. I had my "forgot to load missiles" episode going against at Tac. I had an amazing nan train following me too. We covered 4K and they all crossnaned beautfiully. At 1.2Km I fire... click... click... click... why no missiles? AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!
I ram that base and then gets team podded. Lost that game as the other team gets too much momentum.
Just yesterday I had a rather funny one. I'm turreting for Zapper and Longwinter is my fellow turret. We camp an aleph before going for the SUP.
1) Ask LW, what's your kb, and we try to up ours together
2) We camp for a while, get my KB from 0 up to 28. Zapper notices and tells me that he's going to promote me to bomb.
3) We sit for another 3 minutes. Nice fun turreting.
4) Zapper suddenly jumps in the aleph. ZAP! Screen jumps. I'm still firing my turret. Oh so many targets... fire fire fire.
5) ZAP! Screen jumps. WTF? We just jump an aleph again? Why my turret turning so slow and funny. PANIC! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!
6) Go home riding in a pod. Then realize that the SUP is right there and all I had to do was fire the AB's.
7) Feel stupid. /doh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="doh.gif" />
Thankfully we ended up winning that one.
