but that connection is full dsl, is the best you can get.
here that connection must be worth infinite money.... about 300 uss a month at least.
you should try asking on aol if you can get som ADSL/ADSL2 instead of DSL (a stands for asynchronus, as you may know), which is far cheaper and better suited for browsing and other clienty roles.
also my latency is crappy, and my connection stability depends on the $#@!ing state of mind of the @#$%@#s who work on the (only) ISP
Internet connection speed (take 2)
I have 256kbps ADSL2+. My ISP has G.Lite (RADSL) as well, so we get connections even if we are 10km from the exchange (ADSL limit is 3.25km).
Unlimited transfer connections are fairly expensive here. Capped are cheap. 2Mbps/512kbps is like 5$/mo. Unlimited 256/64 is 20$/mo.
1Mbps/512kbps unlimited is 80$/mo. (Different ISP, doesn't have 2+, only ADSL2, so distance limit is there).

It gets cheaper every 6 months. ATM I pay 45 Euro for 6MBit/768KBit with unlimited transfer, 2 telephone lines (ISDN) and unlimited calls to the german land lines (Not VoIP). I expect the prize to drop another 5 euro in 1-2 months as the new customers already get the new prizes and my ISP lets the old ones switch after 1-2 months.

6mb down/1mbit up. In Germany. Pay around €35 for it.
10/10 (soon 100/100) in Sweden. Pay around €20 for it.
Moving outside Sweden feels like going 5-10 years backwards when it comes to internet connections
