2007 Players Online
It's not the new netcode. This dropping was normal even with the old netcode. /glare.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":glare:" border="0" alt="glare.gif" />

The history of open-source Allegiance is paved with the bodies of dead code branches, forum flame wars, and personal vendettas. But a community remains because people still love the game.

Remember that one old map that used to crash people/servers, the one with a million rocks in the center sector? When one person popped in there, the massive number of updates for all the rocks being spotted could crash the game.
My guess is its something like that for the big games. When you first join, the sever tries to give you an update for everything discovered and all the players, if there are too many players/messages then you might crap out.
I've noticed in the past that I'm most likely to drop in those first few seconds of joining a team in a largish game.

I tried to log in to raise the count up, but I think my self-bannination prevents my log attempts from showing up (although it does reset me on the squad list). Of course I had to schedule my timeout during the anniversary match and still not do the homework I was supposed to /doh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="doh.gif" />

Sorry Globey, but Allegiance never had that amount of ppl on at one time. EVER. The max I've seen is between 500 and 600 and never at once on one server(Logged in but spread out). I also remember that 200peep games were extremely laggy and unstable and required huge Servers (hence the FAZ only had 32peeps per server.)Globemaster_III wrote:QUOTE (Globemaster_III @ Apr 1 2007, 03:53 PM) like i say before...when i first play this game.. we got over 2000 players.....7 years later and we only have less than 200 players
can't wait for another 7 more years
globey
