yes, players board the transport, and exit trough it's doors.

players in base defend, and others can transfer to help them (untill attackers don't destroy the teleport console), and untill they take the control room it's considered as still held by the defenders. when they take the control room it's now their's, but any defenders left might try to take it back, wait for friendly (H)TT of just try to sniper highest KB pilots.

as i imagined it there wouldn't be FPS "mode" - whole game would have to be like that. you'd get a nice little walk to the hangar, where you could choose your ship, and fly it only if you have permission from the comm ($$$ issue)

there'd be no flying in circles, because ships would only launch on specific missions, due to their cost. (probing, miner D/O, con D/O, recon, escort...)

In regards to the Fps style, capturing bases and vehicles you might want to check out Warrock.net. Its an army Fps and could give you some good ideas. We would obviously have to adopt our own vehicles, styles, factions etc but it would give you a good basic idea to work from.

dunno about that. I'd like to see some sort of rudimentary research and resource gathering as well. Maybe make bases generate money for holding them (depending on the base, as in an easily defended, or choke point base generates low money, while hard to defend ones generate high money). If necessary, make a command console that allows a commander to choose how to invest funds (this would be mostly for getting new weapons, armor, and equipment)and even distribute to individual players if needed for those 'luxury' kinda things like a rocket launcher, or even vehicles (like in tribes, or planetside, you buy em and they spawn, instead of just having them all over with a base respawn time like in Warrock)

But what about start vehicles, ie scout? that should be a free vehicle like a "jeep" that should be in a "hangar" that you can walk into and just get in....

Setting/ideas anyone?

I'm thinking chronologically after allegiance in a region formerly controlled by gigacorp that has been depleted of almost all of its he3 and thus abandoned.

I played warock beta also, good game but very laggy for me. I was thinking of an allegiance based version, different faction appearences and stats, mining/resource gathering, base building and tech trees with a comm being responsible for these. Prox become landmines, probes become movement sensors, ints become tanks, sct ships become speederbikes, bombers can stay as bombers, fighters stay as fighters, nan's heal mech and organic etc. I haven't come across an fps that does all these things (wich is why alleg is so tactical and team oriented). I think these would be the main points of concern in creating a playable team oriented alleg fps. Once done scenarios and maps should be easily enough created to suite (ie space/land/asteroid/htt attack/stargate!! etc)

Humanity (what's left of it) finally decides to pull together and resettle planets with their advancements in technology. The resulting republic grows and prospers to encompass many planets, however after a century of increased alien incursions and governmental disputes, old factions rise again, old conflicts re-spark. The wars have begun.

Allegiance - Planetside.

I want in. I sure as hell dont know who is running tis thing so I guess we all are (team of volunteers)

I can help with concepts, and help write the background and even make a nice timeline! (If this is going to fit in after the current allegiance game is set)

Most importantsly I guess, we need some members from the existing Dev Team to play a role in this one too, it would also be extremely cool if Thal was in too.

I like this, it might actually get off the ground. Just need more Dev people to voice a willingness to help.

Random Note: (I can also make a Dev Team userbar!![or just concept team for the moment /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />])
