Vans can be beat, just gotta be smart about it. Adv figs with Dumb 3, gat 3, can take them out. They don't have shields so don't bother with disruptors. Yeah they have longer range than you with their mini ac's and mini LC's if they get it. But they have a small missile capacity as well. IF they drop a LB, kill it, drop mine pack, then go back to killing them. Or better yet, get a stang or corvette if GT.

just dont rush them head on, you have to close close enough, then take them out from the side or top. As long as you dont go head to head, you should be alright

I heard hvy ints dont have shields. Should I not use dis 3 on them?

Against nix, maybe not with thier slight dis resistance.
basic rundown: Gatt has higher default damage, but is only .75 effective against med hull (ints, bombers). Dis has lower default damage, but is 1.6 times effective against med hull. Throw in the extra range, accuracy and that dis3 is "easier" to aim w/ aoe and it can be quite effective against ints, but then again, Nix has a perk against dis, so it may not be worth it there.

Who said anything about beating the team. He is referring to dogfighting. Van with laser and hyper is just cheese. Laser can deal so much damage that it can take out hvy int in 5 sec at good range too.

In a typical dogfighting scenario a heavy Int should take down a Van easily. The key is to avoid eye and simply sneak up on them. I have never lost a 1 on 1 dogfight to a van unless I was eyed early(or my base was camped). If you approach from behind a mini 3 int will pod the van before it can even rotate around. Now, Vans used as they should be used as base D, Bomber escorts or as part of a group going to camp a base are another matter entirely-when used correctly they are neigh unstoppable.

Truthfully, Laser Cannons are so overpowered, they need to be able to be stolen and placed on adv ship's (Heavy int's, Adv Sf's, and Adv Figs) in order to give some reason to *not* just get them.
