Having played 7 years ago doesn't make you a 7 year vet. Having played for 7 straight years does.

K, there was what, 2.5 years where I played on weekends instead of every day due to college? Pook, I haven't seen you in-game forever. How can you sit here and argue about the validity of ELO with me still, when you yourself don't actively play?

I don't get where this idea that I haven't played since AZ and then just magically showed up a week ago comes from. I've been here fairly consistantly for the entire time, with a few months break here and there due to school and "Alleg Burnout." Have I been here as consistantly as some? No, but I've had this game for 7 years. Of COURSE I'm going to take breaks.

Pook, I realize I sound like a broken record with my dislike for ELO, but you're starting to sound like a certian Commander in Chief when it comes to your faith in ELO. Everybody else hates it except you and those you surround yourself with.

Thats a pretty broad generalization there. I don't hate it, does that mean I am surrounding Pook? I don't think so since the last time I tried to talk to Pook directly, Upon pressing Enter my internet went out, then my computer crashed, Then the power died for the next 4 hours. You know, I just spent 10 minutes writing out a huge long response defending my argument and what not, but I deleted it instead.

Fine Pook, you win. ELO rocks, I'm an idiot. Also, the only time period of those "hours played" stats that have any bearing on anything I'm arguing are those in the post R3 period. While your 479 hours looks wonderful and dramatic when compared to my 0, that hardly matters as it was in 2005, well before ELO started posting arbitrary ranks next to our callsigns.

I in no way surround pook, I can't even keep my sig without the forum mafia striking down me and my family... ELO worx. o.O

This really has not much to do with ELO. Bacon's primary argument was "7 year vet > Newb by more than 1 rank".

ELO or no ELO... it's been pretty much universally accepted here that TIME / AGE shouldn't have anything to do with Rank.

That's why it was ripped out and at this point is only used to curve newbie ranks.
