It may not be the only issue, but it's a facet of underlying problem with alot of the newer people comming in.

The fact that most of these people don't actually listen.

I know that alot of people will say that I have no place to even talk about this, that I yell scream and bitch at them and aren't constructive. Well, yes thats the end result when they don't listen. There are time when I don't have to, because they listened in the first place. And whats better is, they learned from it! GASP!

So maybe, if certain people would learn to listen, and learn to learn, it would be alot better. I actually think this guy would do ok, if he would get down off the high horse and learn, and I'd hate from him to turn out to be another Shiny.

zomg, yaoi yaoi, nooooooo- I have to agree with Guitarism. There are n00bs and there are newbs. Some of them need to be reamed for their stupidity and provided a new exit point for their waste materials. Others- spawn may have seen that I posted elsewhere he was on my short (sadly) list of 'good' newbs- can become good players and are willing to learn and listen. Just bc someone is a noob doesnt mean we should forgive their idiocy.

Also like Gui, I realize I am not one to talk....

Rushing for a spec ref at home was ok when they didn't cost $10k to research and that giga ops were $2500 while teles were under $2k

I played with a comm who rushed spec mines while his only miner stayed home some months ago. It was really annoying.

I can somewhat understand why some would like to rush spec mines, but having mines is not a reason not to use miners.

rushing spec refs is fine on giant maps like Iron diamond or eastwest (westeast? w/e I don't care), but yeah, you have to keep your normal miners working.

I don't get it....I've read academy over and over and over...I've only played two games now....it will be quite some time before I ever think of comming....how could anyone come into this game and assume they could immediately take the helm and comm? If we have someone here that was truly that effective at a newb status, I want that person to run for Pres cuz I'd vote for them. We don't have too many natural leaders like that anymore. Now eventually I'd like to step up and give it a shot, but for now I'd prefer to get to a point where I'm not hitching a lift every couple mins. lol

Blaik, there are a lot of dillusional players who think they will pick up the most complex aspects of Allegiance in the same time they "mastered" counter-strike.

Dreamwalker was the best Newbie Com I've ever seen. He commed and won a game vs Ozzy (I think, I may be wrong there) when he was a (5) and commed it well. Even figuring out stuff like killing an enemy bomb run with aleph res when your whole team is podded.

But it's pretty damn unusual for any newb to be passable at commanding let alone good.

I commanded my first match on my first day against Globey. Not because I wanted to, per se, but because no one else would command (sound familiar?). Match went well for me basing everythogn off what I'd read in the (then-very-outdated) Academy and a wiki that has since disappeared. After a few weeks of comm on the newbie server (where we actually played real games with real settings), I was commanding fairly regularly on the vet server as well. So yes, it can be done. It's just highly unusual.
