the thorium rock is a doughnut

you just dont see it in game very often, some custom maps have a thorium rock

I got an issue now. Quia has 8 in his environment pack, I have another pack (shown on my site) that contains two. One file in both packs are the same. So that is a grand total of 9 different files. I'd like to combine them into one pack for my site. Is that OK with everyone? Allegiance rotates between 11 environment images, so were still capable of 2 more hi res evironment images to complete the upgrade. Any offers? I have browsed throught the Hubble's image archive and saved quite a few that I thought would be worthy. I have read through the threads on how to create them, but i'm confused by it, so I've decided not to try and create them myself. Besides, I've got too much on my plate right now anyways. Like I said, any volunteers? I just need 2....

do you know if the one on your site was created with mdlfx or mdlc?

if they are created with mdlc then they can be combined
if mdlfx, then you will need to get / make a version with mdlc

Quia's has been made with mdlc, right?

Lets say that those files on my site were made with mdlfx. Would they still be corrupt if i used mdlc on them now? Or are they permanantly corrupt and need to be started from scratch?

the pack linked in my stickie is now made with mdlc, i asked quia to re-make them and re-release them.

complicated, i'm not 100% sure

some files that were known to be broken by mdlfx did work again after opening them and saving them again.

recently i compared a file made with mdlfx and one made with mdlc, both appeared to be identical.
it also appears that mdlfx is random with its broken file production - some were packs made with mdlfx most things worked, but then one (perhaps more) would crash you, so you have to find 1 or 2 perhaps more broken files out of 40

and any active bitmap (something that gets changed by allegiance in game like a hull bar) made by mdlfx seems to cause it to crash.

i'm not sure what causes mdlfx to make bad files, but i do know that it makes bad files, and if i made the same file again with mdlc allegiance wouldn't crash

i think you are probably ok opening the bmp.mdl and saving it as .bmp the using mdlc to convert it, but using the original .bmp is probably better.

p.s. you CANNOT rename a bmp.mdl file, they have their name embedded in them and just renaming them causes crashes, they need to be opened and then re-converted with the new name
