Raveen wrote:QUOTE (Raveen @ Oct 31 2006, 11:31 AM) I personally find that when that number gets over 100 the game becomes very jumpy. Beyond 130-150 is unplayable for my tastes. There are other people who play with much higher lag though.
COrrect i get sometimes 600-800 lag ,but thank god from 3 months i onley go to 200 max and usualy play with 86-90 lag /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

Here's a biscuit, spamlin.
Now stop misleading the newbie.

Real advice:
Do as the comm says, or if the comm isn't giving orders, as a known vet says.
That means nan bombers, probe, defend your base, scout, escort miners and constructors, etc.
Until you get some experience on you, assume the vets know better.

Use either the mouse or joystick to fly(personal preference dictates)
Use the Alleg Academy keybindings.

In int vs int dogfights, sidethrust a lot, and keep your overall velocity up.
In dogfights that aren't int vs int, hope you have superior range, proxmines of some sort, or both. If not, avoid frontal or rear attacks, unless you know they don't have minepacks or strong frontal weapons(like the SRM dumbfire)
If you're in a stealth fighter or otherwise frail, powerfully armed, stealthy craft, you shouldn't be dogfighting. Keep your distance and lob what you have. Keep your cloak on in enemy sectors until being seen is assured, then it's a waste of energy.
When defending your base from bombers, it is a good idea to go for the escorting scouts first. They can repair the bomber. If your enemy is belters, most other ships can nan bombers, so make sure most if not all of the nans are dead first.

When scouting, use teh command window to assign yourself waypoints (f3)
On most common maps, alephs are usually arranged in either a square or triangular pattern.
Never stop donating, unless the comm orders you to.
If you don't know what to do, see if the comm's asked for orders. When in doubt, read the chat. If there are no immediate orders, find something that will help the team and do it.

That stuff may help you a bit.
Nans are happy people. They fly around, give out repairs, and overall have a lot of fun. Why are we killing them when we can learn from their example?

I think the servers are either somewhere in the Midwest, New England(Northeastern USA), or the Ontarioish whereabouts of Canada. I get an astoundingly low ping of 30ms average.
