Because there is no rule saying they can't whereas the RoC explicitly states that non-newbies may not play on the newbie server. Also if there was such an autoban it'd be breaking the RoC under the no newbie harrasment rule and ASGS would have to ban itself which would probably be bad /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />MushroomCloud wrote:QUOTE (MushroomCloud @ Sep 29 2006, 12:13 PM) I'm courious why no auto 24h ban for complete noobs go to the main servers. /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" /> /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Quick observations.
Most newbies on the newbie server do not want help. They just want to fly around and shoot stuff up. Once they realize there is more to this game, then they move off of there. Over all of the years of popping into the server and asking if anyone needs help or assistance, 80% of the time the answer is a resounding "no".
As pointed out above, you wish to teach, etc., go to an empty server.
Stay off the newbie server. Not that hard to understand /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Hence why the automated system.
Not enough people online to play? Sorry about that, but this answer is very brutal and upfront. Tough %$#@! That doesn't mean all of our rules are void.

Always in the Shadows...
This is sad but true. I made an anti-rant the other week because I'd actually found some newbies who wanted help and listed to what I had to say. They were the exception not the rule. Often when there is more than one vet on the newbie server they end up talking to each other rather than to the newbies.BlackViper wrote:QUOTE (BlackViper @ Sep 29 2006, 01:38 PM) Most newbies on the newbie server do not want help. To those kind souls who are disliking the 24 hour ban for violating the rules...
please realize, you've violated the rules...
and consider that, previously to the rules and the awesome idea of asgs autobans to protect newbie servers...
newbies would be whored (if they got by our @alleg's) on by evil vets until some simply uninstalled the game.
As a fellow addict, I sympathize, buck up don't frak up. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

n.b. I may not see a forum post replied to me or a pm sent to me for weeks and weeks...
Who said anything about a minor infraction? TBH we don't have a major/minor infraction system, bans are handed out based on circumstance and it was deemed by Pook that 24hrs was fair for breaking the no newbie server rule (anything less would just mean a sit out after each game followed by several hours whoring newbies again).cowtown wrote:QUOTE (cowtown @ Sep 29 2006, 04:27 PM) And 24 hours is pretty stiff for a minor infraction.
