I think a thread like this is needed once in awhile. Perhaps, it may be helpful to have a "credits" of sorts that lists out what everyone that contributes anything does? Just a thought.

As for me....
First and foremost I appreciate Pook, the bear, the wearer of the big hat.
I appreciate the newbie who picks up my pod or nans my bomber.
I appreciate the core developers, you guys do some great work.
I appreciate the vets who set aside time to work with new players.
I appreciate the new players who stick with the game and become the vets of tomorrow
I appreciate Thal who does a lot to keep things going
I appreciate the SL's and ASL's who keep the squads alive and kicking
I appreciate the folks who help keep @Cadet going
I appreciate anyone who has organized events to try and get a big fun game going
I appreciate the folks who make the funny motivational posters.
I appreciate anyone who anti-stacks to try and even up a game
I appreciate the team that does not quit, despite the odds
I appreciate the comm who works hard to pull victory from almost certain defeat
I appreciate the dev's who are improving the game and working hard to add more kewl features
I appreciate the SG's that make your heart race every minute of it
I appreciate the friends I have made here
I appreciate the good debates here on the forums (non-flamewars)
I appreciate thread derailment, no forum would be complete without it
I appreciate the fact that this game is still alive and well, so long after it was first created
I appreciate anyone else I may have missed, and this whole community which is what keeps this game alive. Without us playing alleg, it wouldn't be alive.

Good thread apathos /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

I like what everyone has said, but there is one group of people that I would also like to thank.

I would like to thank the people that donate some of their $$$ to keep the game running. The money that people donate makes it much easier for Thal and company to keep the game running.

Aside from the immortal Freespace, I can't think of any other game of the genre that has had such an awesome development community after the franchise has been effectively ended, and its source code made open source. Well, maybe Escape Velocity, but that was always about open development, and it's mostly for Macs, so it doesn't count. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

I don't know that many people on Alleg™, but in my current learning curve I'd like to thank the Cadet Advisors™, and Cadet Instructor™ for teaching me the leet tricks.

The creator of TEkneeboard™ - you know who you are - so I can impress others with my detailed knowledge of Alleg™ constants.

The creator of the Hud Arrow™, so I finally know where the enemy is /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

Also Mr Pook-A-Lot™ and Noir™, otherwise I would have nothing to play with.

Some Really Cool Vets™ who make me practice commanding and improve my game skills during DN battles.

Some really @#$%@#s /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> and dirty bastards /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />, who motivate me to improve my skills so I can pod them.

Mr XT Serb, for his intrigueing character, his goats and his vocabulary. He was the first "character" I encountered on Alleg, and like my first car I won't forget him /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

And last but not least, my /wub.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":iluv:" border="0" alt="wub.gif" /> beloved wife /wub.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":iluv:" border="0" alt="wub.gif" /> for not yelling at me if I'm playing. The garbage can be taken out later too /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

I'm sure I forgot someone /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

All I can do is agree. You guys nailed everything I would have thought of.

Not enough emphasis on core developers though. Thanks for working to make the cores better...All of them.

Thanks to the Cadet instructors for producing players that aren't totally clueless.
Thanks to Cadets that take the time to learn the game.
