Gui, I was talking about your "rakinite has no clue" comment.

A dedicated videocard is *NOT* a requirement of Allegiance, but as Rakinite suggested, a dedicated videocard will improve performance.

My comment about stifling the community was targetted at the "I'm better than you" attitude shown off by many of our longtime vets now for years... and curiously enough, some of the newer people here who haven't even been here a year yet act like they were here for 6...

I used to run this before I built my new computer, on a 700(?)MHz processor and a incredibly old video card. It worked fine. Personally, I would reccommend a decent video card though. A geforce 5500 is about 50$ right now.

You have to also take into effect the OS. While Allegiance was meant to run perfectly well on older systems, they were also typically running Win ME or Win 98 back then. XP didn't come out till late 2001 I believe?

I used my old AMD 800 with 384 MB RAM and a TNT 2 (32 MB RAM) at my mothers place. I got about 1-10 FPS in heavy action scenes.
That was the same computer I used, when I first played Allegiance in 2000. I had no such problems back then.

I used a P2-233 with 128MB RAM and a RIVA TNT to play Alleg back in the AZ/FZ days. Used to have no problems at all.

Yeah I don't have any AGP or PCIX ports though. Just PCI.
But the reason I asked this question was whether I can play it on this comp, or the other comp.
The other computer is more powerful:
3.0 GHZ P4
1gb RAM
128mb ATI Radeon 9800

Obviously it'll do fine.
I'm going to go ahead and try this game!
