So, the first pack I put together was lower than the standard we're trying to keep to, mainly because a lot of the high resolution images we have of planets in our solar system aren't full globes, so there's a -lot- of fiddling involved in making them into one.
Aanyways. I've put together a full pack of 2048x2048 planets. Previews can be found here, in whatever order MS frontpage thinks is best. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
I've been playing with them for a few days, and I'm 100% sure 75% of them are not buggy. /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" /> There -shouldn't- be any problems, all the file dimensions are in order and mdlc was used, but I haven't been able to test all 30 of them.
Download
And because I don't want to make another topic for just one file.
Download

Always one little thing needing to be fixed. /doh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="doh.gif" />
Pack is fixed, and I put up a seperate zip with the one file for people who've already downloaded.

From what I've seen, the only thing limiting the number of posters used by Allegiance is a very easily editable list. Probably have to include low-res images with that update so you wouldn't crash because you didn't have a requested poster...
Anyways. Yes, Madp, I could make an entire pack FULL of suns of all colors. There are literally thousands of useable pictures from SOHO.

I've even taken pictures of the sun through my 5" telescope (yes, with a solar filter), nothing like the SOHO, but i was pleased with the results.

Any chance of a 1024 version of these? 2MB each is a little bit easier than 8MB each for some of us. As a point of reference the originals are 129 KB (or 0.13 MB). If they were not in the alleg specific bmp.mdl format I'd say just let people resample them if they wanted to.
Nice work.
