The only issue i have found is, your chosen resolution is not saved. Sometimes, on certain resolutions, when you change to it. All sound is lost, and have to completely exit & re-start the game to get the sound back.
Other than that i have found no other issues myself, been running it for some time now.

Are you using a non-standard resolution (not one in the list)? Those may have a problem indeed, and they wouldn't work in fullscreen mode anyway. Are you using fullscreen or windowed mode?

I'm unaware of any beta issues with sound. Do you know if it is also happening on the non-beta client? Do you have the steps to consistently reproduce the problem or is it random?

And it was decided

Code: Select all

Changes since the previous update which was on 30-4-2018:

**User interface**
- Movies play on first run by default, will also run once for older installs (Rock)
- Configuration screen reworked in a big way. This should be a lot easier to use and discover for new players. (Rock)
- Added, removed, renamed and changed many configuration options. If you are missing your favorite option, it is likely that it didn't actually do anything. (Rock)
- Added modding section to configuration, displaying currently installed mods. Work in progress. (Rock)
- Fixed bug introduced in january that was making it impossible to change server name and password (Rock)
- Quick reference screen aligns top right instead of bottom left, making sure the close buttons are visible on low resolutions (Rock)
- Added loading screen to startup, graphic by BunnyWabbit. Like. (Rock)
- (New ui, still disabled by default) Likely fixed connecting to passworded server (Rock)
- (New ui, still disabled by default) Fixed popup inside popup (Rock)

**Graphics**
- Upgraded from DirectX9 to DirectX9Ex. Dropping support for windows XP. This is required for several dx features introduced since windows 7. (Rock)
- Set frame latency to 1 (instead of 3) for fullscreen mode. This greatly improves rendering latency. (Rock)
- VSync on by default. With the frame latency change, we can be a bit more environmentally friendly. (Rock)
- Changed how the window is resized, causing less state changes when alt tabbing or starting the game. (Rock)
- Fixed saved resolution not being used. Oops. (Rock)
- The alt-f debug info now shows a table of average and max time taken in a frame for several parts of the rendering process. My hope is that this shows spikes happening for players who experience input lag, in which case we can try to solve those. (Rock)

**Input**:
- Default keymap changed (LANS)
- Fixed one case of the stuck keys bug. Pressing a thrust key, deactivating the window somehow, the key state now resets to being unpressed. (Rock)
- Improved on a previous fix to reset keys when entering a base. Hopefully fixes that one too. (Rock)
- Added raw mouse input as a mouse input option. This was used to test if alleg using an old input method was causing issues. If there is a difference, it is undetectable on my machine (Rock)
- Fixed double mouse click not always registering properly. Some mice (like my new wireless one) like to send empty click events which caused the double mouse click detection to fail. (Rock)

**Training**:
- Fixed mission 2 text (LANS)
- Fixed delay in mission 2 related to afterburner (LANS)

**Other**
- Callsign filtering is more strict, only allowing alphanumeric and _, and limiting length. (Rock)
- Removed several unused startup options (Rock)
- Moved window creation earlier, before game initialization. This allows the game to show the startup movies and the loading screen while (only some) of the game assets load in the background. (Rock)
- Work on separating the engine and artwork loading. Allows the window to be created before loading the game engine. (Rock)
- Moved movies to earlier in the initialization process, they should play before loading game assets. (Rock)
- Added more logging during the login process. We have had players unable to connect for some reason, hopefully this will help tracking down what part fails. (Rock)
- More logging during window initialization. Hopefully to find issues with screen resolutions not being recognized correctly. (Rock)
- Switched the compilation setting to use the c++17 standard. (Rock)

YEeeEeeSssSSsSsSsssssS

Thanks. This brings my mouse performance back to what alleg was 10 years ago. It's perfect. I think it's possible that whether you see a change or not depends on either
1. what type of mouse you're using, and/or
2. how good your aim is :P

Sorry it's late :)
Full screen, changing resolution in the game server lobby to the listed, 1680x1050. Lose all sound, and have to exit re-boot to get it back.
