Is this actually the reason when on autopilot I will fly past treasures repeatedly just missing them?phoenix1 wrote:QUOTE (phoenix1 @ Mar 10 2018, 10:01 PM) Autopilot is borked because of the speed change in the cores.
Radulfr some of us here appreciate the effort you have been putting in to make the game better.
It's a shame patches never get tested during the week and reported on early.
Changes get fleshed out on weekends and then the complaining begins.
I will make a suggestion, unless changes are crashing players/servers maybe you should put changes on a test server first.
Post the changes on FAO & Discord and leave the test server running for a 2 or 3 weeks to allow players to try/test and report back.
Then move to regular servers or tweak and retest as necessary.
Regards
Paps

I didn't realize the forums were deprecated and everything is on @#(!ty Discord now. I must have missed that announcement too. Come to think of it, what are you even doing in this thread? No one comes here anymore.Radulfr wrote:QUOTE (Radulfr @ Mar 11 2018, 04:20 AM) The announcement is on Discord in #announcements. Who would have thought.
QUOTE Or the miners running due to nearby threats. Nope again, that is actually a bug fix and they should have always been doing that, if not for the bug introduced in 2009.
Oh, thanks for the bug fix, now we get to go back to the behavior everyone used to complain about a decade ago, that a single scout used to be able to spook miners. Actually though you knew about that, because I see you added brand new code to specifically exempt a single scout from bouncing miners (or, more specifically, a light-hulled ship with scan range between 2200 and 2950m so ATTENTION CORE DEVS, BE CAREFUL NOT TO TOUCH SCOUT RANGE EVER BECAUSE IT MIGHT CHANGE MINER AI BEHAVIOR IN A WAY YOU DIDN'T EXPECT).
No, please, tell me which active commanders were "moaning" about this aspect of miner AI. I'm not slighted that you didn't talk to me about this change, but I am sure you must have talked to Metz, Ryu, Dome, P1, Drizzo, Thallium etc. and their #1 complaint was, oh, Mr. Radulfr, will you please make miner spooking a thing again because I love it when miners do things I didn't ask them to do?"
QUOTE $#@!ing unbelievable ungrateful bitches.
I wanted to do some crowd funding shenanigans for Allegiance and make it big. But seeing the reactions I get here, I want to do that less and less.
So that takes the number of active devs, to, I don't know ... damn near ZERO. Congratulations, you won't be likely to see any more unannounced (or announced) changes anytime soon.
Well, you got the attitude of a true Allegiance dev down. You got big plans like everyone else, and you alone know what's best for Allegiance and anyone who questions the changes no one asked for is an ingrate. Meanwhile you produce net negative value for the community and you expect us to thank you for it. You've reminded me once again why I'll never get involved in Allegiance development, I have enough work cleaning up crappy code at my day job, but at least it pays better and there are far fewer prima donnas to work with.

This never works. No one plays games on test servers (that said, there should always be LKG server that people can fall back to if there are crashes and/or the game is unplayable).Papsmear wrote:QUOTE (Papsmear @ Mar 11 2018, 11:12 AM) I will make a suggestion, unless changes are crashing players/servers maybe you should put changes on a test server first.

I don't mind that things get occasionally broken, the things that bother me greatly are:
Gameplay-affecting changes being made without review from veteran players. Poor communication of changes.Devs getting a pissy attitude whenever they get any feedback.
Yes, no matter how good a change is, there will always be someone bitching about it, but devs still need to AT LEAST TRY to discuss the changes first, and then don't have such a thin skin when people suggest it may not be as awesome a change as they think.

Yea, good luck finding your dream dev, who has the patience to talk to them all for every little change and still gets anything done. That would have easily doubled my time spent on Allegiance. I can see why you don't want to take the job.cashto wrote:QUOTE (cashto @ Mar 11 2018, 03:20 PM) I am sure you must have talked to Metz, Ryu, Dome, P1, Drizzo, Thallium etc.
I believe I listened more to the players than any other dev on any other game. As I pointed out before, there is hardly anything in my latest change list that isn't a result from listening. Yet I get bitched at more than any other dev I ever observed.
You got some valid points otherwise, and my post sort of is an over-reaction to just this thread, but it's not just this thread.
Who asked for it like, ever? Post a screenshot because I am honestly curious what this thing's purpose even is.Radulfr wrote:QUOTE (Radulfr @ Mar 11 2018, 04:20 AM) You will probably come up with the joystick indicator, but nope, that is what a number of newbies asked for.

Don't find fault, find a remedy; anybody can complain.

Radulfr whatever gameplay changes you do, please, for the love of GOD, tell me when you do @#(! like this so I know what changes will $#@! everything up.

Maybe you are listening to the wrong people.
Like, "default loadout for scouts are more combat oriented". Wtf is that about? Do we really need to encourage the nubbins to dogfight in scouts MORE now? Who in their right mind thinks the ideal scout loadout includes two extra racks of seekers but no nan? Who are these people suggesting that an extra rack of ammo is more valuable than, I donno, another probe or prox mine?
