Getting a world-top-50 degree in engineering for about €15k was a pretty good deal, thanks for asking~

Could've been as low as €4k had I lived in a much poorer family, and that's before any sort of grants or special treatment.

Of course there are tradeoffs:

— no complimentary Macbooks
— very limited dormitories
— quality of English is wildly inconsistent

That said I hear university is actually free in Germany now?

Nix1 quote : How are we going to allow people to get those educations? What incentive does someone have to become a scientist when step 1 is to go 40-50 thousand dollars in debt to qualify for a job that pays 50 thousand a year? Who's going to get the PhDs when doing so requires going another 50,000 to 100,000 in debt for a job that might pay $60,000?

Nix1 my friend i am non-educate college Asian man who used to made 4k to 5k a week if i have the skill that you have i would make 10x more, you sir have the command of communication far better than i
for 200k debt is nothing to me but a year works and i am no better than you.

Nix1 quote :The food crisis was handled through a mix of federal government research grants and federal subsidies to farmers. NEITHER of those are things the modern Republican party would EVER use.

Nix1 let me tell you something about me, i couldn't careless about federal government, democrats or republican party, they are serving the people, their job is to serve us ( the people), your way of thinking is off base
even the billionaire Trump have to serve citizen of the land, remember that and as far as food crisis, we the people handle it very well when we the people put our mind work together..

Not entirely. You have to pay about 150€+-50 per semester (that is not for the university, it is for student social services). But other than that, yes, it is free.
That has been the case for a long time and I hope it stays that way.

The health insurance for students is also quite cheap, if you are not covered by your parents insurance anymore.

:o

Are you trolling?

When asked about his lack of political experience Trump said he would surround himself with people that were the best of the best, people so good we haven't even heard of em yet! Now he proposes someone like Palin, whom, I'm fairly certain, would probably stab herself with a scalpel after 10 years of med school. I doubt any level of schooling is going to make her into a good person for the job.

I guess having people like Giuliani, Newt, Omarosa and Palin beat the wardrum on news shows over the last year came at a cost for Trump. Now he has to wright cheques that will probably doom your country.

That's really impressive, you can more than make up the cost of your university in a single paycheck. 👍

Globey ,
Nowhere in my post did I say that the world is similar to 30 years ago . I said I had been reading the journalist John Pilcher for about the last 30+ years and think that he is a good writer . He is an olde school lefty and has been anti Clinton for a long time .
Personnaly I am NOT a US citizen but was glad that Clinton did not win . Trump is not the best choice but then again who is . I'm just saddened by the exploits of the mainstream worldwide media who are generally pretty $#@!ing hopeless .

On a tangential note:

I need these $#@!ing liberal millenial bull@#(!ters who just today discovered that there's a long and storied history of protests and @#(! to either STFU or actually take the time to learn it.

Christ.

I should not have to listen to someone talk about how great the French Revolution of 1799 was for a whole pile of reasons:

1) It started in 1789. 1799 was when Napoleon Bonaparte (remember him? Of course not because you "learned it for the test" you $#@!ing pile of trash) took over in a coup detat. So... yeah.

2) It wasn't very good, in fact, within five years over 16,000 political dissidents had been officially executed by the interim government and a jackass named Robespierre was busily in the middle of a period known as the "reign of terror."

3) Even THEN the Republic only lasted until just before Robespierre seized control: after he was executed the nation was basically run by 5 guys until Napoleon showed up with his army and was like "Well what if it was just the one guy."

4) How $#@!ing DARE you bitch about how ignorant white people are and then get literally *everything* about the French Revolution wrong.

Jesus $#@!ing christ I had forgotten how much I hate politics. It's like once every four years everyone comes together to brag about how little they actually know about anything.

And if I have to hear one more @#(!ty "the electoral college sucks because it means we can't have coalition governments" I will $#@!ing explode. There are FIVE HUNDRED AND FORTY ELECTED OFFICIALS IN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT and yet people only seem to give a @#(! about one of them.
