Good gawd damn that's all I want for Christmas.
STOPPED HARPER
mehhh. a good navy implies threat of conventional warfare. i don't see that happening pretty much ever. a good air force is much more useful for the types of threats out there these days.djrbk wrote:QUOTE (djrbk @ Nov 6 2015, 09:54 PM) Good boats are prolly more important for us than stealth fighters imo. I support that play. Arctic win!
I'm pretty pumped about Trudeau getting in.
having said that, i did see an article recently saying the liberals are delaying a contract to outfit one of our civvy boats as a military supply vessel (we currently have none). so... i don't really see how wanting a good navy leads to you being pumped about trudeau's win.
in fairness though, he did change his mind about pulling out of syria following the paris attacks. i respect a politician that can change his mind based on new facts.

Nawh it's not wanting a bigger navy that makes me pumped about a Trudeau win. All round the CDN military budget is obviously going to get leaner. (Cuts cuts cuts!) ... for an economic benefit though we want those ships for the Arctic Canal - it'll beat out the Panamax standard for shipping restrictions.
