I know how Rugby works, but I've never followed it. Is the world cup league or union?

Hmmm....we beat NZ at home for the first time in 3 years in the Bledisloe Cup and then won the Castrol Rugby Championship this year (like the 6 nations for Europe...v NZ, SA and Argentina), but a home win isnt as good as an away win vs the Allblacks.

In summary we dont suck anymore.

Yup, unfortunately they are in the hardest group that ever has or ever will exist in the Rugby World Cup. So it'll be tough from the start. They really should reform how they do the groups next time. Not doing the draw 32 months prior to the competition might help...
