Jeremy Corbyn is interesting. I like a lot of what he says, although I disagree with plenty of it. Nuclear disarmament for example, I can accept the principal but I balance that against the weight that nuclear weapons buy our little country on an international stage.
Apologising for the Iraq war? I can't see that it'll have much impact on my life but I think that it would be nice for those in charge at the time to admit that they lied or at very least misrepresented things to the public. Maybe we could have a public inquiry into the whole thing?
Overall I won't be voting for Corbyn because I'm not a member of the Labour Party (or a trade union).
What I think would benefit everyone would be a political system that doesn't force people like Corbyn and Liz Kendall into the same party because they clearly disagree on as much as they agree on. If we had a PR system we could split the two main parties and end up with 5 main parties (From Left to Right: Old Labour, New Labour, Lib Dems, Progressive Tories, UKIP Tories) and associated minor parties and single issue wonks like the Greens. Governments would be formed by coalition of two or more main groups. The public would have more and better choice of who to vote for which would hopefully improve voter engagement.
With regards to the topic at hand. Trump is clearly a buffoon and I can't believe he's seriously electable. Jeb Bush seems like the best actual politician on the Republican side but I think they're all insane TBH.
Because I'm not in the States I don't quite get the hate for Clinton so please feel free to fill me in on why she's so undesirable. In terms of what gets reported over here it's: TRUMP Trump Clinton (Bush).

Liar, ethics of an alley cat, morally bankrupt, sense of entitlement. and those are her good points
Claimed to land in Bosnia under fire is one of many "small" lies she has told for example
There has been a continuous stench around her since the 80s. Slick Hilly has been able to avoid her own cum stained dress moment but her behavior surrounding the Clinton foundation is shady and cavalier.
Her sense of entitlement shows through but abject stupid behavior regarding the email server.
Deleting emails by 10000s was incredibly arrogant given the @#(! storm it was sure to generate and using an unclassified server was guaranteed to mean she personally would be breaking the law. A 400 random sample found about 10% were classified documents. Working in that arena I know how much stuff fits the classified status... it is legendary. If your Hilary apologist and want sweep it all away and give her performance while a Senator and SoS a passing grade (I think she was ineffectual In the first because she was already running for POTUS trying stir no @#(! and white hard working a poor person for her role) her policies, the few she has talked about, are unobtainable nonsense meant to stir up the base.
A shocking number of people polled say they don't like or trust her.
I think she is the worst kind of politican imaginable, one who thinks she is above the law and bon to her position.
American royalty at its worst

I heard it was just removing Trident, not nuclear disarmament. I don't find that too worrying to be honest as having a roving sub(s) armed with nukes to avenge our deaths if we get nuked is pretty pointless, and brings into question if the data can be sent to them reliably about who attacked us anyway and whether the missiles fired would even be effective. I would much rather focus on developing anti-missile defences even though that can be threatening in it's own regard.Raveen wrote:QUOTE (Raveen @ Aug 25 2015, 01:00 PM) Jeremy Corbyn is interesting. Iraq war apology won't change how mustard tastes but it makes Labour more palatable when they admit they were wrong, although that won't save them if they go Clegg wrong and try and apologise.
I think if Corbyn does become Labour Leader then they have a really strong shot at winning the general election if they don't split into Labour and TPFKAL as they would get a lot of Lib Dem voters and possibly Green. The anti-austerity angle is obviously popular and it seems like he has a decent plan to handle it in terms of investment into the economy and supporting British industry.
But also not voting for Corbyn as not registered Supporter and don't really plan on being one. Would vote for Corbyn if he loses election and forms his own party though.
As far as nukes go though, they are all that are keeping the nuclear powers from engaging in direct conflict. They are peacekeepers, twisted as it is. The West and Russia might have bit right into it over Ukraine if it wasn't for nukes. Pakistan and India probably would have dropped the gloves a couple of times, too.
Trump isn't honest, he's just a loudmouthed clown. And he's clearly targeting a specific demographic. He's Rob Ford with more money, and fewer obvious bad habits, but he's nothing more than an ass.
Clinton is sleazy, and frankly, on most days, belongs in the Republican party anyways.
The USA really has to shake its head when you look at what's on offer. Like an advanced nation of 300M people can't find a couple dozen intelligent, mature and decent candidates to choose from who aren't complete frickin nutjobs? Or maybe it's just a matter of what appeals to the voters...
Yeah Blacksun, like what was up with Berlusconi?
Ppl are nuts. They get the governments they deserve.

Seriously, if anyone aside from Sanders is elected, I'm moving to Canadia to tame a moose and apologize to my neighbors
