M$ is promoting W10 for the Raspberry PI 2, but for me it's too annoying to install.

For PC I learned the hard way not to install a new major OS upgrade but wait a few months. I read on The Reg stories about buggy W10.

I'm officially on windows 10.

So far so good, the interface is way better than 8./8.1 were out of the box.
Cortana is as useless as Siri; I said "AMD" into the mic, she picked up "hey andy", and proceeded to do a google search.
I don't get microsoft's idea of making you use your own microsoft account's password, to make you access the pc.
Also PINs have been included as a access method. ( really?!)

I've got it installed now. I'm trying to find a way to get the 64 bit OS installed, but I've never actually done a brand new OS install before.

Enter to win an Insiders' trip to Microsoft Headquarters

Windows Insider Program | Before you install | How-to | Windows Feedback app | Forum

Hello, Windows Insider –

You’re already one of the first people in the world to experience Windows 10. How about an even closer look at Windows – with a trip to Microsoft?

We are inviting 10 Insiders to Microsoft World Headquarters – and we’d like you to be one of them.

This two-day event at Microsoft Headquarters in Seattle is a unique opportunity to experience first-hand how we’re co-developing Windows with Insiders like you. Insiders selected for the trip will:

◾ Meet with me and senior Windows leaders

◾ Get an up-close look at the Windows design process

◾ Tour our hardware design labs

◾ Hear about the evolution of Windows from Microsoft veterans

◾ Check out prototypes not yet seen by the public

◾ And more!

And, of course, we'll be covering Insiders' travel expenses, including flights, meals, accommodations and other planned activities.*

To enter, just go to the Insider Hub on the Windows 10 Start menu.

As much as we'd like to, we can't host every Insider here at Microsoft. So here's how to enter to win a spot on our invitation list: Go to the Insider Hub and submit a short video (in English) of yourself telling us what you like most about Windows 10 Technical Preview and the Windows Insider Program. We'll then draw 500 finalists – and our judging team will choose 10 winners based on your responses.

The deadline to register is March 24, 2015 and winners will be announced on or about March 30, 2015. The event is scheduled for April 23-24, 2015.

Hope to see you here at Microsoft!

I have windows 10 on my main desktop now. It installed quickly and painlessly from my good ol' straight up vanilla Lite-on DVD-RW. The one that everyone and their mother has. It's about 4 years old. Everything was great, all my old and new devices showed up. I was like "holy mac! This is great!", and then I tried to install office off of a dvd.

Wow, the damn thing couldn't detect the DVD drive. That it installed from. Further, research on the issue turned up that it's a well known windows 8 defect, with a registry hack as a workaround. Not even a fixit. After I put in the missing reg key, the thing turned right on and started humming.

WTF MS, you shipped your new "It's not win8, we mean it so hard we jumped a full version number to prove it!!!" with such a common, easy to reproduce, WELL KNOWN, user facing show stopper of a bug?

:glare:

But, on the whole, it seems to work ok. The new edge browser is full of holes, I just fired up the debugger and started surfing, and in 3 pages the whole thing locked up.
