Elite: Dangerous
Yeah, there are serious balancing issues, with the Vulture the biggest offender. It's a very silly easy mode ship which I refuse to fly for that reason.tsubaki_sanjuro wrote:QUOTE (tsubaki_sanjuro @ Jul 6 2015, 03:50 AM) that the ship costs a tenth of what agris' uber-asp costs in theoretical rebuys, and yet brings in vastly more money, does suggest e:d is a bit mad at present.

The multiplayer aspect of the game has slowly been ruined by 1.3.Raveen wrote:QUOTE (Raveen @ Jul 11 2015, 02:49 AM) Can I ask what's annoyed you so much, I've been off exploring so I've not bothered keeping up with stuff in human space like pp.
PP can be affected by solo players. There are no bonuses for playing in Open. Thus people who want to bypass any interaction with players and freely undermine other power's systems can do so with the push of a button.
Instancing is so $#@!ed that myself and half of Code can't wing with eachother and reliably find traders to pirate or enemies after our systems.
Open Play may as well be deleted.
Merchant Marines disbanded because PP was interfering with their group activities so badly. It's a grind inside a grind that splits civilized space into 10 pieces and you can only safely stay in your 1/10th of it.
I have gotten about 5% of the PVP and piracy I used to pre-patch. Code is now inactive to the point of "why are we still even logging in?"
Last week they actually broke a power. Winters(?) went from a top spot to 10th place.
Oh, and now the faction specific weapons are @#(!. The "pirate weapon" isnt even a good pirate weapon. No subsystem damage, only good on shields, and isn't even good at that. Meanwhile, another power gets the weapon we need for subsystem damage. Pretty sure that is Winters again.
Now it is just a glorified solo game. Spore did it better.

I told the guys on the forums that this patch would be cancer and to avoid it at all costs. They didn't believe me. Came back after a month or so to a dead forum and said "I told ya so".
This is why we can't have nice things. Push through a week of beta with bugs galore, ignore negative feedback and assume your product is infallible, get this result.

Or good idea implemented badly. Adding the Power level is strange. It should be about minor factions and the three big ones.tsubaki_sanjuro wrote:QUOTE (tsubaki_sanjuro @ Jul 11 2015, 11:33 PM) PP really is a bad idea implemented badly

no, its a bad idea. e:d should be (as eve is) a sandbox in which the community provides the story, the wars, the rewards for the victors, decisions over who controls whatnot etc etc.Adept wrote:QUOTE (Adept @ Jul 11 2015, 10:50 PM) Or good idea implemented badly. what PP has been is a bad attempt - some of the factions were crippled at birth because of their design - to artificially bring about conflict. they should have just implemented system exploitation for player guilds / companies etc and put in some form of development that way.
