YvB Game 3

I wasn't available the first weekend of the draft. I did join the purple pick pool the second game so it's not like I purposely stacked or anything. Also, using my Happy_Hamburger hider isn't really a hider as I've been using it close to 15 years, even as my main for several, I think at one point it was *Happy_Hamburger@ACS.

I did tell Driz that I would @#(! on his dinning room table if he didn't pick me, but other than that I didn't stack.

I apologize for lumping you in then.

I maintain that you would've been a much better choice to head up Yellow though I do understand if you couldn't/simply didn't want to.

EDIT: I also want to be clear that I'm not trying to make a value judgment about people who used hiders, etc. to avoid being picked by Fedman or people who were picked by fedman and then stopped showing up (I don't know that anyone has done that). Even if you had, Shiz, skipped the draft to avoid being on Fedman's team to me that wouldn't be a sign of moral failing on your part and I wouldn't blame you for the teams being imbalanced.

I would also welcome anyone who's not Vanca commenting on my picks. I'm willing to have been wrong but frankly as I've said before my respect towards Vanca's understanding of this game is minimal at best.

Your picks are fine, while you don't necessarily have the whore power of blue you do have solid teamplayers. RT and now Elem have both proved that you don't need whores to win higher level games, you just have to change your playstyle - going IC exp vs Rix exp might not have been the wisest of choices. You had close to 20 players, sup or supticle could have been pretty dominant, and would have raped our SY.

As for myself being a teamleader, that would mean I'd probably have to comm a game or two, which I have no interest in doing. Also, at the time my January Sundays were going to be pretty hit and miss, so not really fair to my team if I would only be there 50% of the time.

P1, I don't really know you from old games and I have been here several years. I don't really care if you respect me or not. I never said I know about alleg so much as you claim and I don't even care. I play alleg for fun, not as pro sport when you need to know everything (bcos you get payed for it). I think your ego just got hurt bcos you got your hands into alleg programming (and being in SysX/Xexy squad always raised ego) and your cmd skills were criticized. Let's make this argument bit more interesting than just plain talks. If you didn't take me seriously you wouldn't write here walls of texts.

I challenge you to YvB, with new pickpool. We can make it on Saturday standard sg time or Sunday this week (if it is possible to pospone "real" YvB). Or next week considering time issues of both you and me.

Let me know if you accept that and if yes, when. I am not saying winner is better, I just wanna show you, what I learned through those years by myself (no CDT/ACS/AFS) even tho I started to command just these 2 months. Cya on battlefield

I hope ppl will support this challenge and show up.

I can get behind that as I didn't even want to $#@!ing command these games in the first place and knew the entire event would have been a joke as soon as Dome said it was the most unpopular troll vs the popular troll.

Also I think you overestimate the meanings of my walls of text. First and foremost I like thinking and writing in that order. After that I like instructing and teaching. If by dumping out a wall of text I am teaching people what to do and how to play, then I'm all kinds of happy. These walls of text are far more me just wanting to explain my thoughts and ideas more than anything else.

As for ego affecting me, I don't care if Broodwich says my aim sucks. Compared to him it does. If some voob who knows nothing from nothing said my aim sucked, that would be aggravating. In this case, your lack of importance and value is what triggers my condescension.

TL/DR:

Command skills criticized from an established veteran of the community? Sweet. A chance for me to learn.

Command skills criticized from a hyper-inflated voob who's pissed because he wasn't good enough despite his high rank to even remotely assist a team that was put in a position to win? Put up or shut up.

I don't really get the point of teams like this and I would write this even if I were on the blue side (this was my first YvB game). Sadly, this is Alleginace. First you need to chose equal comanders, then you need to let them pick equal(ish) teams.

No offense to Fed or whoever was Y commander but he is clearly not first class comm as Drizzo etc. At least not in SGs where the coordination is a key. Which he lacks terribly. I feel bad fo criticizing ppl for their mistakes when I couldn't make it any better, but I had to say it. It just seems like ppl play alleg like dumb sheeps not trying to make it any better for community. I feel sorry for Y team players (who are kind of new in alleg) on mumble who listened to that crap. If you give team which doesn't even need to be coordinated to great commander and disorganised team of newbies and voobs to good commander with lack of organize skills, it's like going blind with glock without hands vs sniper... (If you can get close he can just beat you down with gun-stock).

Idk, maybe I am wrong and you like it that way, so feel free to say your opinion. Mine is, I don't see the point in playing SGs like this one. So, if you want to keep it going as it is, I am out.

I try to enjoy games even when my team is getting rolled, despite the fact that it's usually because 90% of the team is doing the stupidest thing possible at all times, because let's be honest that happens a LOT on Alleg. P1's comming was pretty solid and he made good calls throughout the game; the only real mistake he made was that he didn't boot anyone. Yellow's loss was definitely a responsibility shared by the whole team, and while I owned up to my piloting errors (for one thing, I got distracted by a small miner rush I should have ignored and stopped for a minute, delaying me from following that all-important op con) after the game, when you look at major team-wide $#@!ups like "there were only two people close enough to defend an important con push that had been previously announced by the commander in both voice and text chat" there's a pretty good chance I'm not the only person who messed up. I don't really want to pick a fight, but by the time Blue had ints up, half of Yellow was ignoring everything P1 said, despite the fact that he was pretty communicative and kept us pretty informed about what he wanted us to be doing and what we shouldn't be doing. Hell, he even warned people that they were heading toward a proxed aleph and then watched helplessly as they boosted through full speed anyway.

I slept in while hoping that the teams would abide by the additions-by-rank rule but that clearly didn't happen.

Vets using false hiders in order to stack teams should be ashamed of themselves.

I fly under a hider because if anyone remembers me, it'll probably be for my old posting style rather than my piloting. I'd prefer to convince everyone I'm at least a passable pilot before I drop the hider completely and everyone says "Oh, it's that @#$%@#".
