I've been logged into the ACSS server all afternoon, and discussing with pkk. I've located some very inefficient code in the ACSS server (it's that dastardly check for machine finger prints and account linking) that I've got a fix for. I'll be looking to roll that out later tonight after you guys are done playing.
pkk and I are also discussing moving ACSS over to MACH3, and getting more server capacity on that end. I've been holding off making any changes to the ranking until we get this locked down, I don't want the extra calculations to add to the issues.
Thanks,

TestUS2 network capacity issues are probably not fixed yet. I am not sure what to do at this point, getting ridiculous. We can either move the server to Chicago, at least temporarily, which would raise Europe pings a little or go back to TestUS1.hockey1015 wrote:QUOTE (hockey1015 @ Sep 28 2014, 08:09 PM) Wild and I were experiencing some pretty severe lag spikes on testus 2 just a bit ago. I hardly ever/borderline never get jumps like that. Maybe more issues?
Poll added, please respond as we need to decide on how to proceed with servers. I am cancelling TestUS2 as I don't feel like putting money into a server which I can't use and I have no idea when will be fixed. TestUS3 is also too expensive unless someone wants to provide a valid Windows Server 2008 or 2012 license.
We can either go back to TestUS1 which seemed decent or move the server to Chicago which would mean EU pings go up a little and west US pings go down about the same amount (probably 15-20ms on average). TestUS1 is cheaper than US2 which is nice, but maybe slightly worse before the major issues with US2 started.
You can use these test IPs to ping if you wish:
US1 New Jersey (North East US): 108.61.5.88
Chicago (A bit more west in US): 216.52.148.4

Have you personally experienced lag/packetloss/drops on TestUS2?
Yes (live in US)
Yes (do not live in US)
No (live in US)
Yes (do not live in US)
This poll is completely unbiased. If it should show that 100% of the voting people from the EU have problems, clearly everyone has them!

Still ready to teach anyone who asks nicely whatever they want to know about playing alleg. Contrary to popular opinion I do not eat newbies. Voobs taste much better.
