Wow... my Draconium backstory doesn't hold a candle to Vegeta's story for Dreg..

Okay - so i'm testing out Pcore3 with all of my artwork and whatnot, but I think we're pretty much as good to go as we'll be barring me finding anything tonight.

PKK - Are you available to push this core out on Friday?

P32 - Are you good with a changelog/Drac-stats intro for Friday? Your pcore3 changelog thread will be where most of the Draconium discussion will be.

Dome - Are you good to post an announcement (not event) on Friday that Draconium is released? I plan on being online most of that night commanding games, so hopefully we'll get some curious players to turn out.

After the faction has been out for a couple of weeks and we've shaken out any issues that might arise, we can look into setting up an event.

Shouldn't be a problem, but I will be unavailable between 1 and 4 pm EDT.

Ready for AU: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/233 ... ore003.zip

Contains core file as well as any needed files for draconium. Additionally a changelog giving an overview about draconium that will be posted in my core thread as well.
Still ready to teach anyone who asks nicely whatever they want to know about playing alleg. Contrary to popular opinion I do not eat newbies. Voobs taste much better.

I haven't looked into the file, but maybe we get some problems.

CSS AU will only download files which are not existing, it ignores everything else, like missionbrief.mdl and sounddef.mdl.

To enforce an update of those files, you need to set a flag called 'protected', so ACSS will run a checksum on file and downloads correct version.

That means we get the following problem(s):

Custom quick chats
If we enforce sounddef.mdl, some client may crash. I'm currently not sure if they crash while starting Allegiance or actually using such a custom one. (Needs testing)
This should be announced before we put this on AU (not that important), this can be done by ACSS broadcast and also within the Draconium announcement post (with download link to regular QC menu: http://svn.alleg.net/svn/Installer_Client/.../quickchat.mdl).

This will be the end of custom quickchat sounds, until we update the ACSS AU process. I've already discussed this with BT.

CortUI
CortUI uses a custom missionbrief.mdl, ACSS will enforce that file, no matter people install it before or after we push Draconium. From my experience I would say there shouldn't be any problems at all, because CortUI only uses some modded tips and changed layout.

Reason: chat with BT

I tested quickchat, having a quickchat definition in quickchat.mdl crashes the game on startup if the sound is not defined in sounddef.mdl

I wonder how this was done back when OH was released?

OH was released under ASGS.

People just overwrote the file (fixed QC sounddef.mdl) and ASGS didn't update it until a new file was added to AU.

ACSS right now:
If file doesn't exist, download file.
If file exists, do nothing.
If file is protected, compare checksums, if checksums don't match, download file.

Future/Planned ACSS release:
If file doesn't exist, download file.
If file exists, check date. If file is older than server version, download file.
If file is protected, generate checksum. If checksums don't match, download file.

I dont see a way to allow people to keep custom quickchats while releasing the faction as it is then.

If we switch to protected mode for the files, noone can change qcs until protection is released (which would prevent anyone else from updating, at least until ACCS update is out)
If we dont switch to protected mode we cant release the faction as it is - I could however change it so it works without ambient inbase sounds, only missionbrief change is a must.

I dont mind either way, changing that wouldnt take very long. I leave the decision up to you guys.

Nearly recalled everything because we were unable to blow up bases which worked before. Turns out it wasnt our fault but a beta-bug found here. Lots of last second panic for free!

But that means we really are good to go, "changelog" post is up too!
