i did that with my artwork stickie, but that doesn't inclued non-artwork mods, i was thinking of a general mod index as there wasn't one, but then there would be duplication with the artwork one, unless i linked stuff to the artwork one, but then i would need links in the artwork one linking back and...

Is it possible to do the red/green arrows and loose the targetting circle?
I hate having stuff block my view.
I like the tiny little "+" cross hairs that someone made and think it would be handy to combine that with the red/grren arrows as long as they are kept relatively small.
Also would prefer NOT to have the words "Waypoint" or "Target" on screen either.
I like everything kept clean.

First, yes you can lose the reticule. Edit both the "centerinbmp.mdl" nad "centeroutbmp.mdl file to all black. you will never see a reticule again.
Second, you can lose the "waypoint" and "target" files by doing the same method described above. I'm just not sure off the top of my head which files those a labeled.

the circles and the words were just labelling on the screen shot, their not there in the game

it is pointer.mdl, there is also pointer.x, but pointer.mdl is what is used in the game

And I never did respond to the question what shape to use, but I am going to test using an interceptor model /wub.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":iluv:" border="0" alt="wub.gif" />

The second one is a brighter red because I made the texture more transparent or very light, so the game renders the lighter texture brighter, and darker textures will be .. darker. And I think the model needs to be made smaller, it looks too big, second screen is in 800 x600 because I was in training mode

Also I have to assume that doing this puts a little more stress on your renders, not a whole lot, but it is certainly more than the original pointer would. But I have proven it possible and could be done with any ship, but I would not want to do it with a high poly count ship because it would force your machine to constantly render it and even though it is very small it would still be a high poly count.

A guy could almost actually use the LOD models contained in the original allegiance models and use one of the less detailed models, being it would be very small, it would be hardly noticeable I would think.
