Looks really good for me! I average 40 ms at planet servers.

And I may be able to contribute, but i can't promise.

From Northern VA, your server has about ~1/3 the latency as Planet's and while I did not test Thal serv, they are almost always worse for me.

Guys use 'ping -n 20 tigereye.ca' or even -50, the results from 4 pings are not very reliable... even from one set of 20 it is not so good unless you try it a few times during the time you are likely to play.

Code: Select all

Tiger's  (13 hops)
Ping statistics for 204.14.17.162:
    Packets: Sent = 20, Received = 20, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 31ms, Maximum = 38ms, Average = 34ms

Code: Select all

Planet (13 hops)
Ping statistics for 69.93.201.146:
    Packets: Sent = 20, Received = 20, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 65ms, Maximum = 295ms, Average = 91ms
Edit: p.s I'd kick in 20 bucks now and then, I was doing more than that on a less frequent basis a while back

Well it sounds like I would get a few donations over the year, which would definitely make this option more possible.
Unfortunately, I am not Mr. Moneybags like Noir - I can't afford the server on my own.

I'll keep you guys updated, but it looks like there's a strong possibility that we'll get an insane-o fast gameserver /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Let's not count chickens before they've hatched though!

Speaking of this, I've recently come into the chance to host the FTX servers on a dedicated business connection... Pingy Herey.

A pale contender over FTX? Honestly Bax, your servers are lag heaven once the total player count reaches over 10. You might have good ping times, but you either have a slow-ass machine or a very thin pipe.
