Heyhey.
New player here. I've been trying to get online for a while now, but no matter what I do, I can't seem to solve this thing. Everything works fine up to requesting the current game list. I did read everything I could find on the topic, and I uninstalled my firewall completely, opened all the ports (just to be on the safe side), yet the problem persists.
Anything I've missed?
Specs:
Windows Version: XP SP3
Router: TP-Link TL-WR542G
Location: Hungary
Installed Mods: none
Make and Version of firewall: Comodo
Failed to connect to the lobby
The Comodo 'firewall' (like many other 3rd party firewalls) doesn't allow DirectPlay 8 (Allegiance uses this) to open ports at your router.
Deactivating the firewall doesn't help, the only known workaround is completely uninstall that incompatible firewall and replace it with a compatible one (like Windows build-in firewall).

The history of open-source Allegiance is paved with the bodies of dead code branches, forum flame wars, and personal vendettas. But a community remains because people still love the game.
Maybe it's not completely uninstalled:

I've run that tool a couple of times, and even skimmed throught the registry myself to look for any stray entries. I've also manually deleted every leftover folder I could find. Also reinstalled the game after doing all that.
It still doesn't work.
Could it be caused by anything else or is it 100% certain that this is the firewall's fault?

Another reason can be port forwarding rules or firewall settings at your router.

Well, I'm lost then. I've been trying to figure this out for the better part of the last 2 days.
I've literally reset my whole network, set it up from square one. I've also tried enabling DMZ on the router, adding ports to the exceptions of the Windows firewall, reinstalling the game countless times after as clean of an uninstall as I could manage, and none of it is of any use.
Can't think of anything else, so unless someone has a solution not short of a miracle, I'm probably going to have to give up on this.
