I agree that squad games used to be higher quality than pickup games, this is not being disputed.. I'm saying that these days you can't depend on squads to produce high quality games. Something new is needed.
Metz's recent actions actually support my argument. He started a new squad and got a bunch of active players together. Now imagine if that was replicated x4, 4 new teams; they pick players from a pool of active players who sign up, and stay together in a competitive league.
I'm not saying it can work anymore (I believe it's already too late), but it would be the hypothetical ideal way to have competitive games.
We are in agreement; Something new is needed.
However I don't agree that it's already too late. That kind of sentiment is contributing to the demise of this game. If people believe this game could be saved (IT CAN BE SAVED) then the foundation for rebuilding is set.
This negative attitude that all is lost, that Allegiance is just like any other free(or not) game that will fail is a $#@!ing cancer. All you need is to take a small bit of time to voice your care of the game.. and then the willingness to take the necessary steps to save the game. IT CAN'T BE SAVED IF WE DO NOTHING. It is worth it to try... is it not?

I feel the desire to play almost every night but I keep checking and can't even join a PUG! The last two night have been horrible! All of you (including you Metz haven't seen you fly just troll the lobby) get your arses out and play! How is forming new squads going to solve anything if people aren't playing every night?
Are you just talking about playing one game a week on Sunday's? REALLY?
I commed a game last night while like 15 people sat afk
I was traveling the past 2 weeks and didn't even have a mouse so yes all I did was troll the lobby during that time
and i'll be on tonight if I'm not doing a friday-night-type-thing

I hope you prove me wrong, I really do.
But I'm not trying to be a negative nancy, I'm just being pragmatic.

i think it a good idea to merge the squads. ffs we need to get squad games going. was having internet issues lately, but was working on it so i should be available if i dont have to work. "squad games is are last line of defence"," During squad game times members show up to play, but lately not enough to fully represent a squad, and the time get wasted" these opinions i agree with and believe they are true.
We dont need to attract players that are already playing allegiance, we need to attract people who have not played allegiance before. Yes, squads may help make a person STAY with awesome gameplay... but if noone shows up in the first place, just who are the squads going to attract? Cart before the horse. Squad games had lackluster attendance back when i played in '05. The fact that its getting worse is a symptom.
That being said, merging the squads isnt a bad idea. It will probably help, i just hope people understand that this needs to be part of an overall re-vamping process that has several different fronts we can fight on not just squad games.
