You know, I think what made Alleg so special and SO addictive in it's prime was that there was plenty of opportunity for anybody on the team to become the hero. You might be playing a game with 60 other people in it, but you had the power and the capability to do something so !@#$ing awesome that it could turn an otherwise hopeless, #resign-worthy game around. Alleg was a Hero Simulator... everybody who's been here since AZ/FZ days (and many more!) has been the "Big !@#$ing Hero" at some point in time. We've all magically slipped into an enemy sector uneyed and capped the enemy exp when everybody else was stuck camping or dogfighting in some contested sector, or lead an SB attack 3 sectors away from the nearest friendly OP and gotten the last, winning missile off a fraction of a second before some int whore pods you, or racked up a 43kb by being a total badass and fending off half of the other team as they try to take your forward attack ref. Or having a quiet, but very, VERY intense competition with somebody for most kills in the game (G, G, G, G). We've all done it (some more than others =P), but that feeling of recognition and knowing that YOU turned the tide of the game was what made Alleg something special.

I think that's what is unique about Alleg. I can't think of any other multiplayer game where anybody at any time can get this discrete, highly public recognition of being the !@#$in' hero. And to reference my last post, what made Alleg truly shine was when "The Big !@#$ing Hero" was the entire team. Meaning, when everybody worked together and succeeded at some insane goal, those are the games that kept us coming back.

Anyway... I do miss Alleg. I know I've been pretty vocal about how "Alleg is dead," and I hope you guys realize that while the servers may be up and games may still be played, *my* Alleg is long dead. The game I'm talking about -- Alleg circa 1999-2007 -- has been gone for quite awhile. The excitement, novelty, and a lot of the community are all pretty much gone. It's sad, but we all had a great time while it lasted =)

As I said Bacon Allegiance is dead for you, much as it died for me for years until I combined my PocketPC and Google to find that it lived all that time even when I turned my back on it. A new different version of it, not like the good old days, but alivei. Something I am forever grateful to the likes of those mentioned and not mentioned in this very thread. That's one of my goals Bacon, so that some day you can come back and the game will still being played. Maybe not how you remember it fondest or the vision you have for it but still there and with some of the same players.

As I said before and I'll say again this is a group effort, and no one person can do it alone. As a wise old farmer once told me, the cows come and cows go but the farmer KrimShady never leaves. Now move over pork product you're blocking the best oats

Once Rammed Shenron (( who waz in a belterz HTT)) Lined Up way away form him with a HVY belter int nan... He started for the base at about 6k from it I waz like 5or 6 K from him....Waz boostin at him....RIght when I waz about to "switch to the next Fuel load aka slow down a bit while refuel.. a power Up popz UP and I hit it dead on SO I just kept acceleratin... He getz spotted at the usual 2.5 K from base 16 Hvy IC Intz pop out...Boost toward him.. BUt right when the first guy startz to shoot I smack into hiz ass Im pretty sure I waz goin either 400mps or a bit faster.. He said he hit 350 MPS.. and almost out ran hiz emp missle to the base.. needless to say That EXP got capped.......BUT the kicker iz.... He Immediately launchez agian and so do I.. and I push himv Un molested to the next secor and across another 6 k to cap the SY, we launch again and I ass ram him 5 more K to cap the Garrison and seal the deal on a big win baby.. I luv shenz fat ass..

ANd Shenronz very very special ship..... (( plz hope the dont offend anyone)) Was the Heavy Book Burner that shootz flaming swaztikaz.. kant remember off hand what squad he waz mad at.. But he waz komin to defense of dreg..and this sqaud waz really layin into how OP dreg waz and how the designerz where whorez and assez etc... Kuzz Him spaceman spliff and Lt_hud all had a big part in makin it and we were katchin alot of flack for it..(( 4 dudez sittin around smokin green and drinkin Sobe energy drinkz heh Dreg iz soo sweet))

I remember the times I would pod kumquat in my scout, I would follow him home all the while shooting him with my gatt till he almost got pked then I would switch to nan and heal him up. Rinse and repeat, then just before he docks with his base I would finish the deal and rip out.

Oh the swearing over ts made my heart sing.
