Salutations old and new alleg players!

In this topic i would like to discuss the possibility of a diferent method of probelaying.
The methods ill explain here can only be deployed if the commander researched any GA,and can only be used when you're flying a scout(normal, adv or hvy).
What i propose first is a "behaviour" to deploy probes,i activate the "Line Probing" then i deploy a EWS Probe I in grid, then i fly straight without moving up or down, the "Line Probing" behaviour will deploy another probe automatically which its scan radius can touch the other probe scan radius. It will keep laying probes this way until you dont have any probes left. Since i couldn't found a decent animation freeware ill have to appeal to text art

ºc = EWS Probe I
- = means 100m each(theoretically the EWS probe in this case has exact 500m radious scan

(- - - - -ºc - - - - -)(- - - - - ºc - - - - -)

two probes deployed in "Line Probing behaviour

This is a precise probing which can literally lay a scan line on any sector.
Good cuz: it can deploy a scan line on an enemy sector.
Bad cuz: its predictble is quite easy if you find the first probe.

Method 2 "Area Probing"

Area probing means that probes would overlay each other scan circles, since this is highly annoying to be done with autopilot so i suggest a new equipment called IPPD(Instant Precise Probe Deployer) for scouts that can deploy 6 probes fast and easily, the deployer can raise scout sig by 3 for 1,5 seconds, the moving probes stay the same, the system could also be as heavy as an LRM Aleph Res

the white circles are the probes scan range circles and its middle point its where IPPD was been activated, as you can see
the IPPD release has a total diameter of view of 1,1k m which is the double of scan range that a normal EWS Probe I has.

Good cuz: can create vision circles on enemy sectors, alephs, bases, asteroids.
Bad cuz: if you can spot one of these probes you will soon spot the rest and you cant areaprobe an alehp without the enemy spotting your ship moving in these pattern

I requested this because i wanted some precise probing,or at least a visual representation of my team vision in a sector.
I know i have badly explained my suggestion and it requires a lot of coding to work properly, but it can create a probe laying pattern to help newbs and vets alike in probing, the area probing could be used above an aleph to create an "aleph vision halo".
Thanks

There's more to probing than trying to get full visual coverage with a grid. Having a whole array appear at a single press seems excessive and unnecessary.

Typically it helps to know what you're probing against. If you're probing with the concern of spotting bombers early on (hence Early Warning System) you should put some about 900m away from the expected bomber path.

The idea is to place the probe in such a way that they will spot a priority target (bomber, miner, constructor) and not be detected in the process.

You can spam all the probes you want, but a few well placed probes is better than a grid of half-assed ones that'll be dealt with by the first player cruising by.

Thanks,i thought the probe line deployment behaviour would be a good idea for vets since in can create a scan pillar over an aleph.
And according to my calculations, only a EWS probe 2 can succesfully probe an enemy station without getting eyed in the process since the disntace from center of each probe is 800m and their SIG is 20% so in order to an outpost eye it it must be within 580m not 800m in other words with EWS probe III you can have a complete scan circle of 1,6m around the outpost, obviously when an enemy launhes from it it'll get easily detected if we are speaking of an advanced scout(which has a scan range[on CC_14] of 3000m then it will eye a EWS probe 3 at 600m from it)but the distance of each probe in 60° bigger thn that(of course if a probe is placed right in front of the red door it would get detected even by a fighter).

Still line probing is a good idea to get a good vision of an enemy/neutral sector
