regardless of how you feel about apple or their products, the guy made really good contributions to the technology field and as such his death is a shame!

alternate reply:

even more hipsters will be buying apple products now that steve jobs is underground

Actually, yes. but only if you consider philanthropy for what it really should be.
As a 20-30 year old, I can understand that. it is all about me in those years. As you get older, you realise others helped get you there and a new Steve Jobs wont show unless given help (not handouts).

A true example of Philanthropy......it is not freebies.

I am not trying to turn this thread. He was not worthless, as I credited him for his early work. But for a person of his wealth and position to not cycle something back into industry/community that doesnt directly help his own business interests....there is something not right.

When I heard the news, I felt more relief than sadness. So I was more shocked by how I felt than by the news itself.
Why would I feel 'relief' for someone been dead ? very disturbing. It's not like he was a criminal or something like that.

May be it's because I value more how computers work 'inside' than how they look 'outside'. I feel like an era of moving in the wrong direction has ended. I don't know. I really need to think about this.

I guess we will have to let history judge after the distortion field slowly vanishes.

It's a titanic loss for the technology world. He will be missed.
Stevie boy was a hypster, and one of the worst exploiters of third world labor the world has seen in the tech industry... thats saying @#(! loads.

God bless him for knowing exactly how to exploit theApplesters for maximum profit while putting out run of the mill stuff.

A broken clock is right twice a day so everything that Apple put out wasn't utter @#(!, occasional it was good, just usually it was *meh*

Michael Jackson was one of the world's worst pedophiles and Steve Jobs put out run of the mill products MOST of the times

edited it down to a nicer version... no really

This is odd since he was never convicted of such a thing.

Just sayin...

Didn't really know much about him, except he wore jeans a lot.

I sort of scanned through the first half of the article on the news feed. I read everything on Ralph Steinman's passing though.

Don't you know that we are innocent until proven guilty? He was not proven guilty.

Dare you suggest that our justice system is flawed? Because such a suggestion is very unpatriotic and communistic.
