I actually remember DESTROYING asterorids via ramming (albeit multiple) in ints with the neat boosters from the old SOC core...

Why do asteroids take 0 damage from collisions in recent cores anyhow? It's in the damage/armor class definitions, I just don't know why...

that's not recent. It's like that since the very beginning.

I think some people have memory issues (or identity issues) :P

Well, if you had 20 ships simultaneously ram a garrison full speed if the bomber ended up being short one missile and failing to kill it by a hair, the base could be finished off.
I've seen it done on a smaller base, the bomber died before getting off the final missile, we all rammed the base, and it exploded.

I actually believe that you can damage even large bases down, I recall doing something similar in racecore

yes we did that in a racecore brawl one night after noir's servers crashed or something
