Well it may of been quieter down south last night but manchester was hit badly.

Most shop windows put through, lots of places stripped bare. A good chunk of buildings set on fire with a couple completely destroyed.

Our only saving grace was the fact our police were waiting for this so the response was as quick as possible.

I feel for three men and their families last night, it saddens me to read that you have to give your life trying to protect your lively-hood.

Business' are closing early in manchester and the police are prepping for round two.

Just food for thought, and I'm probably carrying this whole possible parralell thing way, way to far.

Smelly foreign type sterotypical thoughts over here?
England trouble, isn't that where the Patroits play... good I didn't like that QB anyway

Glad to see it has all calmed down, hope it ends well.

Well, with regards to proper, at least they formed orderly queues and waited their turn to loot and pillage: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/cri...ce-spreads.html

The father of one of the murdered blokes was on Aljazeera. Indian or pakistani heritage, I'd guess and as english as they come. A very stylish gentleman, speaking totally native english. Just about a perfect poster boy of a non-white englishman.

His son and the others from the local muslim community (or so I understood) had gathered around a petrol station and garrage to protect them and other businesses in the area from looters. Three or four cars filled with young men were driving up and down the street past them, apparently looking for places to loot. This went on for a while, until one of the cars accelerated into the group of people guarding the businesses, deliberately ramming into them at high speed and then speeding away up the road.

WHAT $#@!ING @#$%@#S! Murder by car, because these guys wouldn't let the yobs rob them and burn their businesses.

I hope Agri gets granted Judge Dredd powers and hangs them up by their genitals. Scum like that just lost the right to exist on the same planet as me. :glare:

I am going to post both these videos because that man - Tariq Jahan - gave a couple of the most moving statements I have ever heard. Everyone in the world should watch them (so please forward them on), especially the rioters and most importantly our idiotic leaders in the commons, who disgraced themselves yesterday with a parade of imbecilic proposals (cutting off communications in the area, spraying rioters with dye, sending in the extremely overstretched army) that could only ever lead to a disaster:

interview the morning after his son was murdererd - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJv92ZXVQjs

“Life,” the belgian agri observed, “is a long dialogue with imbeciles.’’

All I can think to say is that this saddens me. What a shame that it has gone this far.

Hmm.

notjarvis has mostly missed all this news as he's been insulated from it all in a holiday camp with the kids.

notjarvis has, to be honest, sadly, been expecting some sort of riots in the next year or so, but was surprised it happened so soon.

notjarvis thinks it's partly to do with a consumerist culture where buying stuff is idealised (chav culture is an obvious symbol of this), and suddenly money sources have dried up.

notjarvis agrees very very much with agri's last post.

notjarvis thinks agri should lead a coup with the police force behind him. as they are much more popular with the people. Viva emperor agri.

notjarvis is very tired.
