I just went to Microsoft.com, and remember how they released the source code for Mech Commander 2, I searched up some open source-code, and this game up ^.^

This is the first real online game I have ever played not on my friends computer. otherwise i play a mud called Aetolia. Offline...O..M..F...G too many to count.

A friend linked me to a list of free multiplayer games on a now-dead forum. I still seek to play the game in spite of unending roadblocks and frustrations (the folks' 900ms sat uplink, NAT everywhere at Lackland AFB, no internet whatsover at Camp Bullis). That said, I picked up a nice Thinkpad T60 that did play the beta FAZ R3 quite well.

Soon, perhaps, I shall reign dark over the servers in vooby frustration. Well, that or incessant arguing with the bots in the Rolling Thunder IRC channel.

Figured i would chime in with my story.

I also played in the beta. When Alleg whent gold i picked up a copy playing it daily without a life. After a good while i took a break from Alleg and when i came back to my disappointment it was gone i was heart broke. One of the greatest games ever made had simply vanished.

Every once in a awhile i would install the game for no reason knowing i couldn't play it. Then one day i got the urge again i installed it but this time i said to myself some one had to of cracked it or patched it to work with a server somewhere. So i hit up gamespot and there it was a article about the Best game no one played and a link to where the community got the source and had Alleg on life support it was still alive and at that moment (just like now going back over that moment) a rush of adrenaline washed over me i was so freaking excited i downloaded it got it working (which back then had a couple problems) and started playing.

Most of you dont know me cause i'm very casual with Alleg cause i dont wanna burn my self out on it again cause next time i may never see it again. My in game name is Vicor

Also does anyone have a old Screenshot of the rankings back in the day like maybe the top 50 cause for the longest i was in the top 25 28BlaDeZ-POLK was the name.
