I remember hearing a couple of times that you receive cash from pod-killing players with a high kb. Although I can't remember where I read it and I can't find anything to back it up on the academy or in the code. I've heard a couple of other people ask about this in-game too so I don't think I'm totally crazy.

Can anyone provide enlightenment?

This article says we get cash from killing pods.
I asked about it some time ago. The answer then was no.

i heard your individual pay day gets higher if you have a higher kb, the total for the team remains the same, but if yours is higher than others you get more. most people dont notice since everyone is donating to the comm, i may have seen it when i was patil investing on bios before right click, i may have been getting more when i had a 40 than a 10, but i cant remember, 'twas a very long time ago

Negative on both counts.

From what I've heard, it's possible for this to be implemented in a core already due to the ICE-cold miracle, but no cores seem to use it.
Nans are happy people. They fly around, give out repairs, and overall have a lot of fun. Why are we killing them when we can learn from their example?

It existed in an early version of the game when all ships were intended to cost money. Kill-Bonus was changed from a monetary bonus to a damage bonus. As far as I know, the code associated was removed as the game style was changed, though the hook and entry for it in the core file remains. The help file in F1 was never altered before release, so evidently it still said something about it there, but it was not part of the game MS released, and has not been added in since then. If it is widely desired we could likely add in some form of bounty or money-based kill-bonus back in.

I'm pretty sure it was the hotu article I read which pointed me at Allegiance that gave me that idea. Obviously that thought stuck in my head throughout the last nine months somehow.

Lies, all lies.

A money bonus on killing the enemy comm? That should keep the commander where he's supposed to be /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />
