Heya
Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Worst scenario, I'm without a cell phone for a tour, God forbid... lol. I can survive.
I have faith that I will stay safe over there. Ideally, I'll be in a FOB. My job is to ensure every FOB in the province is maxed out in supplies, but for the mechanical echelons, so fuel, engine parts, etc. So I will be on convoys going back and forth between different outposts, and when there's a convoys there's a 95% chance of an IED or two.
There's four different echelons from what I understand. It could range from a simple oil changing shop to building/installing transmissions in the 7-tons. I'm the voice of our CO, so if someone else jacks something up, it all funnels down to me, thus the management in Maintenance Management Specialist.
I check into my school tomorrow after a long flight out to Camp Lejeune from Cali, so I'll know for sure what my job entails.

if you're going to be a MIMMS clerk, you will probably be behind a desk in the S-4. not that its a bad thing, though. i'm an admin clerk in the Marines. grunts might talk @#(! about us desk jockeys, but they're always envious of us on the insideSycrus wrote:QUOTE (Sycrus @ Mar 1 2011, 09:12 AM) Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Good luck Sycrus, sorry I cant give you more info, the US has different policies to us brits.
BAMCIS! We'll see, I just out of ELR at Camp Johnson, we picked up to LOS yesterday. Sounds like PA is hella strict, I just ran into a buddy who was still in full cammies getting ready for their 3rd formation since we got released for weekend libo. How was it back when you went through?arcadus wrote:QUOTE (arcadus @ Mar 3 2011, 11:19 PM) if you're going to be a MIMMS clerk, you will probably be behind a desk in the S-4. not that its a bad thing, though. i'm an admin clerk in the Marines. grunts might talk @#(! about us desk jockeys, but they're always envious of us on the inside![]()
My school doesn't pick up for another 8 weeks unless I get thrown into the class that starts on the 22nd, but that would be a miracle.
But yeah, from what I've heard, it's a desk job. I might get attached to a Victor unit, but who knows. I guess I get to find that out when I get my orders.
@Sp4wn- US, and thanks man
