Mission statement:
To improve balance, making factions and techs equally viable against each other on 12-13 sector maps, 8 to 16 players per game, and common game settings, to ensure fair games and gameplay variety.

How?
We identify problem areas by analyzing the core and soliciting community feedback. After discussion amongst the CC team at length, issues that will have a significant positive impact or are straightforward & isolated in nature will be targeted for the next core. Others will be postponed, opened to further community discussion or entirely rejected. We use polls to solicit input, not as a decision making mechanism.

When?
We aim to release cores frequently, typically in 1-2 month cycles, to revise and optimize quickly. We will periodically release a list of what we are working on to keep the community informed. Changes should be regarded as temporary until fully playtested by the community, another reason for short release cycles. We fully expect there will be sub-optimal changes: we will fix any "game-breaker" changes ASAP and any changes that don't achieve the intended effect will be revised with the next release.

Who?
The CC ZL recruits players who know the game, the core, are good communicators, have sufficient experience and are willing to invest the time required to formulate and revise ideas until a consensus can be reached. If you are interested, send a PM to the ZL explaining why you are a good fit.
