The number one problem with ALLEGWARS and FleetWARS is people want to fly with or for their friends. Everytime we have picked teams be it 2 teams like fleetwars or 8 teams in AllegWars 10 years ago some people refuse to fly for who they are picked by. Then some players wont show up and make the teams imbalanced which causes more dropouts and so on.
I loves allegwars but there is little hope to make it work. The last Allegwars was squad bases and had the best chance to succed but still fell far short.

I see. Like regular Allegiance but with horrendous music.refill wrote:QUOTE (refill @ Jan 23 2011, 12:42 AM) http://blip.tv/file/1042870/

It was simply a transfer of info from special games to a online map. In future games it allowed you to deploy other techs and "fleets" within a "normal" game.
Its as if you played squad games and the results was put on a map so you could see your progress.
Perhaps we can remake this again. We currently have 9 squads. We could make a huge map(not an in-game map) and track the progress of each squad.
Each sector would have a tech rock. Control 2 sup rocks for example and you can buy adv sup in a squad game.
As each squad moves acrossed the map you would fight for sectors to control tech rocks. You could form alliances with other squads and declare enemies from the start. Something like the "Force" vs the "Rebels" to allow some multi team squad games.
If there is interest in this concept perhaps someone will help make a map and help make rules?

Allegiance Fleet Command/wars/whatever was a community organized "event" that incorporated meta-game into standard allegiance play. Two (or more) factions would be headed up by players of the community, and they would wage war on a grand scale on a campaign map.
They would fight over resources, which they would use to purchase fleets, which would then have players selected to command them. These fleets would meet on this campaign map, and then battles would be fought in Allegiance, in a real match.
Etc.

I don't want that time to be a @#(!-storm of hate and schadenfreude.
That was the official documentation.Alien51 wrote:QUOTE (Alien51 @ Jan 23 2011, 05:02 AM) Well that explained nothing.
All info I could find since I did not play a single game in it.
edit: The music was from a classic movie.
