Hi, I am having the exact problem as this guy: http://www.freeallegiance.org/forums/index...hl=assemble+key
I have already:
Run as Admin
Put compatibility on windows 2003 server
Updated the Game to 212 build
The thread I just linked just dies out, no solution found, at least one not published.
Is there something I can do, because I just really want to play this game.
Cannot Assemble Key
Well, you've certainly done the homework. Nice job.
Have you checked that SMART is turned on for your hard drive? Are you running a RAID of any sort? Please let us know about those points. In the interest of time, I'll bump it up to an admin, but he'll need answers to those questions. We should get it solved. Thanks for your patience.

I've emailed you something which should help. Let us know if you got ingame OK.

I've just had the exact same problem this morning. when i try to log in it fails to assemble key.
It was working fine yesterday, the only thing that i can think of that could has caused this is my computer did an automatic update last night which may have changed something??? does anyone know if there is a way of un-updating or another way to solve this problem? i'm running windows 7 starter by the way.

Success !!!!
i managed to solve the problem by restoring my system to a previous time using "system restore" ( you can find it in the control panel under recovery) i restored it to before it did an automatic update. the update i think that caused this problem was windows defender checkpoint being uninstalled. by reversing this change and changing the compatibility to 2003 server i am able to play
