Welcome! There's a lot of good info on the wiki. Also, we have a training program which I highly recommend.

Welcome to the new guys! :) I'm glad you told us how you found us. We need to find out what that article had that the others didn't so we can use that to promote more.

hello all, I'm another one of those who heard about this game from the Escapist. I love the idea of actually being valuable as a support player in more than just a "oh, you want to heal people... well i guess we can fit you in" kind of way :)

oh, and I hope you don't mind if i try and address some things, I'm not sure if its been covered somewhere else... if so just ignore this

in reference to these:

the escapist put out a new article not too long ago on Allegiance which can be found here: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/v...me-Never-Played

hopefully I'll be in your sector nanin' you or your miners/cons soon,

Even the humble basic scout can be lethal here, though. I saw once a whole boosting FB run (about 10 fighter-bombers) destroyed or mangled by a single field of proximity mines dropped at the exit of the aleph. :ninja:

Btw, how do I use my mouse instead of my keyboard to fly? Any help would be appreciated :)

Hey Shane, welcome to Alleg man. You're gonna love it here, and tell as many people as you can to come!

About the mouse thing, you can open your controls (press escape, then G, then C) and remap them as you please. I don't know the default way of doing it, but to fly with my mouse I have my Toggle Mouse Control keys bound to alt+space. It also helps if you look for the virtual joystick option, which gives your mouse a better feel to it when flying. Hope that helps in some way.

I'm glad you're asking that Q, though. Most newbies come through and think you CAN'T fly with your mouse and quit the game. They didn't even get a chance to get clobbered in gameplay yet either

IIRC, the default mouse control toggle is the zero key on your number pad. My laptop doesn't have a number pad so I had to re-map that straight away. :P
