Yeah, CTF in space is a bit... bleh. Fly straight at the flag as fast as possible, fly back to base. Repeat. I'm sure you could make some fun CTF maps but it'd still be more or less boring.

Are towers and caltrops allowed in CTF?

Yes. I remember a silly CTF game from ages ago between me and just one other player that consisted of me firing an Aleph Resonator at the aleph to their home, and then trying to dock and get out in an int with nothing mounted but a booster and nothing but fuel in cargo to get through the Ressed aleph as quickly as possible, before they set up a new caltrop. Lather, rinse, repeat. :P

Yes, you can turn development on with any game mode.

Conquest in Allegiance has much the same feel as CTF in many other games. In simple fighting games CTF has the most strategy and cooperation required... as it happens, those things are the bread and butter of Allegiance in Conquest.

So, don't worry about it, and welcome

Maybe only freighters should be able to carry the flag in CTF.

Hmm, bombers and HTTs maybe more like. Interesting idea.

I remember a game where each team had a mothership - the objective was to escort the mothership to obtain the flag in enemy territory, and bring it back to base. Things really got hectic and exiting when the two armadas clashed.

In allegiance? I don't even know if that's possible with the current setup. Unless somehow you made a combo base-ship thing.

Yeah, that would be the idea, something to prevent a fast moving flag. Another would be the flag having a drag effect on the ship, slowing it down to a crawl and resistant to ramming.
