LANS -

PM Sp4wn for help with logos - he did work on the training pages linked from my sig.

This is a good idea - Drizzo had a similar idea in the training forums, but sadly didn't get too far into it before he wen AFK for a while.

I'd suggest really short ones on specific tactics/task, just a minute or two at a time. People's attention spans are short.

If you need any help with bits of this get in touch, I'd also suggest not tying it too closely to the CDT I / AFS material as I'm planning to change that at some point.....

can we get a sub forum up? so we don't fill this thread up with questions like
"do you want default hud on every video"? etc.etc.

If you happen to want the YouTube account, AllegTraining, I can give it to you. I can assist with other stuff, recording/editing/anything other than narration, if needed.

Perhaps a subforum of Documentation or Training? As the videos are discussing tactics a Training subforum might be best. This should also increase the chance that new players find it.

Also look at juctos "You suck at Alleg" series as it covers some of the basic thing nicely, mayb you can link them adn save time by not creating the same thing or improvise it (dont forget to credit jucto as the original badboy or you gonna get some very bad vibes from the community).

Thanks, I'll ask Sp4wn.

I'm not tying it into the AFS material in any way, but I am using the AFS material as a basis of topics to cover.

I am trying to keep these videos short. I want 5 minutes max.

That would be wonderful. I've sent you a PM

Who do I talk to about that?

Also, as a demonstration, I plan to record the "How to be a constructor nanite scout" video (I posted the script in my original post) on Wednesday Sept. 22 at 3PM EST (SquadGameTime). Anyone who wants to show up is welcome as long as they follow the script. I'll be doing the recording for this one. Note: If I can get my microphone working, I will also be using Mumble for coordination.

If you have any changes you think I should make to the script, download it, change it, and PM me with the updated copy. I will post the final script sometime Tuesday evening.

Probably Me.

For somewhere to point to the finished Youtube Videos - I'd suggest starting a page on the wiki. I'll do it for you soon if you wish. We can point the relevant training towards it.

Whether we need another sub-forum to manage, I'll look into this, I'm not sure we will have enough activity to justify another forum. I might just make a generic open "Training" forum, so people can post up things like this, and also ask questions about CDT etc. (it's something I've been thinking of for a while).

You may be better managing this with something like GoogleDocs. I use it for much of the training stuff, and for things like this - you wish to do collaboratively - it's quite awesome.

If you notice, I am using google docs. I'll make it public then, I'm just afraid of vandalism.
