These bugs haven't been fixed yet because don't have any developers interested in fixing them up. --Tigereye

In part, I agree. As a developer you should only be improving the game and not adding in things simply because they strike your fancy. As far as game play goes, for example, I sucked and, if I still played, would still suck but I disagree that it would categorize me as being doomed to failure as an Allegiance programmer.Mastametz wrote:QUOTE (Mastametz @ Aug 22 2010, 01:09 PM) on a semi-related note - I don't think people who are bad at the game should have any influence in core/game development. If you can't figure out how to effectively play the game as it is then wtf are you doing adding more @#(!? You think more "features" will make you better? No, they people better than you will still use your precious features more effectively than you will, so No, $#@! you.
The best people's opinions should weigh heavier than anyone else's, in every scenario in-game, and in RL
god damn I'm grouchy
Project management (along with structured analysis and design) is one skill set, point and shoot skills quite another. A good developer solicits opinions and strikes a properly balanced answer to all given situations. I'll admit though, that is not the easiest thing to do because it is hard and tedious; it's quite easier said than done. Coding is one thing, playing games another. You do not have to be skilled at one to be skilled at the other. Doesn't hurt though.
I'm not actually trying to defend anyone here though, simply taking exception to this general perception.
Plus, as usual, it's late so I'm pretty well liquored up by this point, thus my verbosity.
