As you all know new users need to make X number of posts before they can start using the message system.
You may not be aware that this also affects their ability to receive messages... which makes it hard to talk to new players.
It would be great if @HELP had the power to force open new user accounts.

Even better, if new players were informed that they can approach @HELP in-game and ask for this, it would allows us to keep track of incoming newbies better...

I'm thinking of writing some scriptthingies to help @HELP do stuff and one of the things I'd like to give @HELP is the ability to break the wall between in-game and forum... automagically! ;)
Don't worry about the details, the biggest obstacle is depending on the newbie to unlock his account... :bang:

Get them to sign up for AFS.

Every member of AFS has his PMs enabled now, while they are in AFS.

Edit:

Just added this recently - I was thinking much the same as you spin....

QUOTE Get them to sign up for AFS.[/quote]
I'm adding this new perk to the AFS wiki page.

BTW, I just took a look at the wiki instructions for joining AFS... it's the scariest wiki page I've ever seen!
Grey boxes!
Exclamation marks!
A warning sign!
ZOMG!!!

The page really needs to be reformatted to look less intimidating... probably has to be done from fresh.
At the minimum, it would help to make less of a wall-of-text.

Yeah. It's been on my too do list for a while.

Although hopefully I get the impression most new applicants go through sp4wns excellent training page first (check the linked Training image in my sig...)
