FreeBeer wrote:QUOTE (FreeBeer @ Jul 3 2010, 09:36 AM) I find the forums (haven't tried the wiki) are back to being sluggish. After the fix there seemed to be improvements... only the occasional delay... still not as good as it used to be, but certainly an improvement. Today, the laggy response seems to be back. *shrug*
Ditto - I wrote out a post and hit 'reply' in another topic earlier and sat there for a couple minutes, with a spinning 'loading' icon. I eventually refreshed the page and there was my post :0\

Edit: same thing happened to me just now.

Yeah, I've found you can usually wait 20-30 seconds and manually go to the topic and find your post.

@#(!!

the SMART status on the forumserver's OS drive is yelling! "failure imminent"

The forums will go down sometime this week for HDD replacement. I'm not sure which day this will happen, but it's likely to occur between 5-8pm one day this week.

Sorry for the last-minute notice - this comes as a surprise to me too.

Preaching to the choir.

I own and operate the lobby/asgs/etc server.
Saucetel owns and operates the forum server; I lease space and bandwidth.

That's why I'm always delayed when dealing with out-of-sync times and DNS entries, etc. Thankfully they're pretty quick to respond - far quicker than other "hosting providers"

Bump.

It's back to being awfully slow again today for me. And I guess for other people from the number of Duplicated double posts I've seen overnight,

The forum will be going down sometime this week to replace the bad drive.
This should yield a marked improvement in performance.
